Melvin Aldridge, age 75, of Shelbyville died Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Masonic Home Shelbyville. He was a native of Owen County, the son of the late Chester and Mary Ann Vest Aldridge, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, retired as credit manager at Belknap Inc., a member of Solomon Lodge No. 5, Free and Accepted Masons and Buffalo Lick Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie McCann Aldridge, Shelbyville; six brothers: Jasper Aldridge, Chillicothe, Ohio; Chester and Danny Aldridge, both of Eminence; Charlie Aldridge, Rock Falls, Illinois; Bobby Aldridge, Shelbyville; and Freddie Aldridge, Elizabethtown; two sisters: Margaret Wilborn and Judy Seeders, both of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Rueal Boils, Rev. Paul Daulton and Rev. Jesse Baxter officiated.
