Connie Tingle Pearson, 40, of Louisville, passed away Monday, January 17, 1983 at the Suburban Hospital, Louisville, after a short illness. She was employed by the Courier-Journal, where she had worked as an administrative secretary for 20 years in the Features Department.
Mrs. Pearson was the daughter of Maude Louise Vaughn and the late Chester Tingle. She was the widow of Van Pearson, who preceded her in death in 1971. They had two children, Van Eric Pearson, age 19 and Melanie Lynn Pearson, age 13, who resided with their mother. Her other survivors include her mother: Maude Louise Vaughn, Eminence, formerly of Campbellsburg; three sisters: Patty Toomes, Sherry Dean Coleman and Vickie Smith, all of Louisville; two brothers: Edward Vaughn, Louisville and Kevin G. Vaughn, New Castle; two aunts: Mrs. Billy Forquer, Richmond and Mrs. Reva Supplee, Carrollton; and one uncle: Courtland Pyles, Campbellsburg.
Funeral services were held from Pearson�s Funeral Home, Louisville, on Wednesday, January 19th at 1 p.m. Her body was laid to rest in Memorial Gardens, West in Louisville by the side of her late husband. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Frank Russell Bennett, Louisville. Graveside services were officiated by Mrs. Pearson�s nephew, Rev. Musial Pearson of Pleasureville.

Mrs. Ruth Pedigo of Glendale, CA, died in a Palm Springs, CA hospital on December 12, 1993. She was a native of Campbellsburg, formerly of New Castle, and a member of the Glendale Baptist Church.
She is survived by one step-son, Rex Redigo, Jr.; two nieces, one nephew and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Pedigo and one sister, Lena W. Newman.
A memorial service was held in Palm Desert. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, CA.

Mrs. Minnie (B.) Skidmore Peeples, (July 3,1875 � February 24,1956), 80, widow of (William) W. C. Peeples (September 12,1872 � February 16,1947), Jacksonville, FL, died Friday night at the New Castle Sanitarium after a long illness. Mrs. Peeples had lived in the South until the death of her husband about nine years ago, when she came back to Kentucky to be near her family. She was a native of Henry County, the daughter of the late E. A. and Margaret Batts Skidmore, Campbellsburg.
She is survived by three brothers: L. C. Skidmore, Sr., Campbellsburg, N. E. Skidmore, Pleasureville and R. W. Skidmore, Louisville; one niece and six nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at McCarty Funeral Home in New Castle. Rev. William E, Hull, pastor of the New Castle Baptist Church where she was a member, officiated, assisted by Rev. Earl Hall, pastor of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Miss Anna Frances Peel, 72, of New Castle, Died Saturday, November 10, 1984, at the Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle. She was the City Clerk of New Castle for nineteen years, and a member of the First Baptist Church, New Castle.
She is survived by three cousins: Mrs. Ralph (Celeste) Goulet, Indianapolis, Mrs. Ann Baker, Northridge, CA and Mrs. Edith Honaker, Sherman, CA.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 12th from Prewitt�s, New Castle. Rev. Mikeal Parsons, pastor of the New Castle First Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Mrs. Clemma R. �Clemmie� Pendleton ( 1852-1937), 84, widow of Jessie Pendleton, a former merchant of Pleasureville, died at 1 this morning of a heart attack.
She was visiting her sister, Miss Pinkey Ricketts, Mt. Sterling, when she was stricken. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. R. C. Holland, Pleasureville, with whom she made her home, and two grandchildren.

Elmer B. Penick, 82, of Pendleton, died Sunday, April 15, 1984, at the Humana Hospital University, Louisville. He was a native of Grant County, a retired farmer and mechanic, formerly operated a garage in Sulphur, and was a member of the Covington Baptist Church in Oldham County.
He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Katherine Danner Penick, Pendleton; one daughter: Mrs. Mary Quidachay, LaGrange; one sister: Mrs. Anna McCane, Bedford; four brothers: Robert Penick and Woodrow Penick, both of Bedford, James William Penick, Sulphur and Willard R. Penick, Campbellsburg; two grandsons: Michael and David Quidachay, LaGrange.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19th at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. Al Claybrook, Shelbyville, IN and Rev. Jerry Pitman, pastor of the Covington Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Sulphur Cemetery.

Mrs. Elizabeth T. Peniston, 94, of Turners Station, died Monday, May 21, 1990 at the Jefferson Manor Nursing Home in Louisville. She was a native of Henry County, a retired school teacher and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church for 65 years.
She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. William (Virginia) Costel, Louisville; two sons: William H. Peniston, Turners Station and L. T. Peniston, New Castle; one sister: Mrs. Charles G. (Esther) Peters, Charleston, WV; one brother: Paul A. Teague, Brooksville, FL; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24th at the Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle. Rev. William Slater, pastor of the Warsaw Baptist Church, Warsaw, VA, will officiate, assisted by Bruce Gentry, pastor of the Hopewell Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Louis T. �L.T.� Pensiton 85, of New Castle passed away Thursday, January 13, 2005 at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville Inpatient Unit. He was a native of Lacie and the son of the late Tandy and Elizabeth Peniston. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran and attended Georgetown College and the University of Louisville Law School, receiving his law degree in 1946. He practiced law in New Castle for 58 years, served in the General Assembly for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife: Mae H. Peniston, New Castle; one brother: William H. Peniston, Lacie; one sister: Mrs. William L. (Virginia) Costel, Louisville and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 16th at 2 p.m. at Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle. Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary S. Penn, 95, of Sulphur, died Thursday, December 29, 1984, at the Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle. She was a member of the Sulphur Methodist Church for 81 years.
She is survived by one niece: Mrs. Edith Malone, Stratton, CO and two nephews: Henry P. Ford, Louisville and J. Park Smith, Nickerson, KA.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 31st from Prewitt�s, New Castle. Rev. Ray Snider, pastor of the Sulphur Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Sulphur Cemetery.

Mrs. Robert C. Pepper, 71, of Crestwood, died Monday, July 8, 1985 at the Baptist East Hospital, Louisville, after a brief illness. Mrs. Pepper was the former Dorothy Lee Guyton, a native of Skylight, Oldham County, and the daughter of the late Charles C. and Ona Belle Hayes Guyton. She was a licensed practical nurse and a member of the Harrods Creek Baptist Church, Brownsboro.
She is survived by her husband: Robert C. Pepper, Crestwood; three daughters: Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Manley, LaGrange, Mrs. Kenneth (Vivian) Bishop, Port Royal and Mrs. Ronald (Phyllis) Miller, LaGrange; one son: Charles M. Kelley, Crestwood; one sister: Mrs. Frances Lowry, Elkhart, IN; three brothers: Lewis C. Guyton, Lyndon, Coleman Guyton, Louisville and Leonard Guyton, Anchorage, thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11th at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. David Bridges, pastor of the Mt. Zion Church of God, LaGrange and Dr. Clayton Klingefus, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

Mrs. Anna Laura Peyton, 87, of Bethlehem, died Monday, July 7, 1997, at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and served as postmaster at the Pleasureville Post Office for 45 years.
She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Roy (Zelma) Winchester, Bethlehem; two sons: Lee Peyton, Jr., Campbellsburg and Cecil Peyton, Bethlehem; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Peyton, Sr.
Services will be held today (Wednesday, July 9th) at 2 p.m. at Sholar Funeral Home. Rev. Delbert Butts will officiate and Greg Spear will bring special music. Burial will be in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Cecil C. Payton, 67, of New Castle, died Monday, April 19, 2004, at his residence. He was the son of the late Lee and Anna Laura Hackett Peyton, Sr., a Marine Veteran, a retired postmaster at Bethlehem and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Bette Baker Peyton, New Castle; one sister: Mrs. Roy (Zelma) Winchester, Bethlehem and one brother: Lee Peyton, Jr., Campbellsburg.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 23rd at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Rev. Delbert Butts, Interim pastor of the Hopewell Baptist Church, will officiate. Rev. Billy Marcum, Brandenburg, will assist. Interment will be in the New Castle Cemetery.

Ernest �Skinny� Peyton, 95, of Bethlehem, died Monday, December 19, 2005, at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. He was the son of the late Ben and Elizabeth Purvis Peyton, a member of the Pleasureville Baptist Church and a bus driver and custodian for the Henry County Schools for over 30 years.
He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Dills and Mrs. Jr. (Kaye) Heightchew, both of Eminence and Mrs. Roy (Carolyn) Aldridge, Pleasureville; four sons: Bradley Peyton, Shepherdsville, Marshall Lee Payton, Franklinton, David Peyton, Eminence and Darryl Peyton, Bethlehem; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel P. Peyton, one daughter, Linda Beutel, two grandchildren, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 22nd at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Hayward Yeary, pastor of New Vision Fellowship Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Jacky Newton, pastor of the Franklinton Baptist Church. Interment was in the Point Pleasant Cemetery.

Lee Peyton, Jr., 76, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at his residence. He was born April 16, 1929 in Bethlehem to Lee and Anna Hackett Peyton. He was a graduate of Pleasureville High School, Georgetown College and the University of Kentucky. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and a life member of the DAV. He served in the Marines during the Korean War. He taught and coached in the Henry County School system, was a retired principal of the Trimble County School system and a retired teacher of the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Cecil Peyton. He is survived by his wife: Betty Orem Peyton, Campbellsburg; one daughter: Laura Lee Lewis, Campbellsburg and one son: Zane Orem Peyton, Campbellsburg; granddaughters: Hannah and Rachel Lewis, Campbellsburg and one sister: Zelma Winchester, Bethlehem.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 16th at 2 p.m. at Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg. Rev. Bert Montgomery will officiate. Burial will be in the New Castle Cemetery.

He is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Gaylia Stalker, Pleasureville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Luke Peyton, 67, of Eminence, died suddenly Tuesday, February 5, 1985 at his residence. He was a retired farmer, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII where he was a P.O.W., and a member of the Henry County DAV #155 since 1979.
He is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Jeffrey (Glenda) Soden, Danvers, MA; one sister: Mrs. Bessie Adams, Frankfort; one brother: Ernest Peyton, Bethlehem and teo grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 7th from Prewitt�s, New Castle. Rev. Jack Brewer, pastor of the First Methodist Church, London, KY, officiated. Interment was in the Shady Lawn Memorial Gardens, Shelbyville.

William David �Dave� Peyton, Jr., age 4, died Monday, January 4, 1988 at the Kosair-Childrens Hospital, Louisville. Dave was born October 4, 1983, in Louisville, the son of William David and Karan Ann Barr Peyton, Sr. He attended the Buckner Baptist Church with his parents.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Russell D. Payton, Buckner and Mr. Robert A. Barr, Louisville; great-grandmother: Mrs. Mary Blanche Peyton, Bethlehem; and a host of aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 8th at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. Chip Pendleton, pastor of the Buckner Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.
The grandparents were former Henry County residents.

Cosby Victoria Alley Pfosy, 101, of Shelbyville, died October 9, 2001, at the Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle. Mrs. Pfost was born December 6, 1899 in Pike County, Kentucky.
(She is survived by one daughter: Mary Elizabeth Mitchell and husband, Harry, New Castle and one son: William �Bill� Pfost and wife, Mary Ellen Vaughn Pfost, Paducah.)
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. October 12, 2001, at Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Dr. Howard Griffith officiated. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

William �Sarge� Thomas Pfost, 78, of Paducah, formerly of Shelbyville, died Monday, April 25, 2005 at his residence. He was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church, the owner and operator of W.T. Pfost Engraving Company, served in the U.S. Navy in WWII, served in the Marine Corps in the Korean Conflict, served in the U.S. Army Reserve in the Berlin Wall Conflict, served in the Kentucky National Guard, retired from Union Carbide, founder and member of the Hendron Fire Department and was the son of the late Jay Guy Pfost and Cosby Alley Pfost.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Ellen Vaughn Pfost, Paducah; two sons: Thomas Edward Fielder, Lexington and David Fredrick Fielder, Benton; one sister: Mary Elizabeth Mitchell, New Castle; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Jay Pfost, and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28th at Milner and Orr Funeral Home. Dr. E. Lee James and Rev. John Vaughn officiated. Interment was in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Thomas �Tommy� D. Phelps, 50, of Campbellsburg, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, in Campbellsburg. He was a self-employed landscaper and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church and the Riverside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother and father: Marnella Geary Phelps and Foch Phelps, Crestwood; one brother: Robert L. Phelps, Crestwood; grandmother: Mary Ruth Geary and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 16th at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Duncan and Rev. Barbara Reynolds officiated. Interment was in the Floydsburg Cemetery.

Gary D. Phillips, 46, of Shelbyville, died Monday, December 25, 2006, at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. He was the son of the late Clarence Phillips, a Baptist and a self-employed painter.
He is survived by two sons: Russell E. Phillips and Justin L. Phillips, both of Henry County; his mother: Lillian Sparrow Phillips, Smithfield; three sisters: Connie Logsdon, Shelbyville, Sandra Allgeier, Smithfield and Elizabeth Leyva, Louisville; four brothers: Larry R. Phillips, Eminence, Steve L. Phillips, Shelbyville, Danny L. Phillips, Smithfield and Jerry G. Phillips, Henry County and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 28th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Dr. Dave Charlton, pastor of the New Castle Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Sligo Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Vance Phillips, 80, of Lexington, formerly of Henry County, died Sunday, March 7, 1993 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington. She was a member of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church and a retired Federal employee.
She is survived by her husband: William G. Phillips, Lexington; one son: Gerald T. Steverson, Pleasureville; one brother: R. W. Vance, Defoe; three grandchildren: Debora Gividen, Brooksville, Bradley Steverson, Pleasureville and Todd Steverson, Pleasureville; and one great-grandchild, Jackie Gividen, Brooksville.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 10th) at Sholar-Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Van Firestine, Pleasureville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Dorothy Irene Phipps, 44, of New Castle, died Monday, October 2, 2006. She was a native of Tennessee, the daughter of the late Leslie and Ruby Caudill Likens, attended the New Castle Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son: Alan Lee Phipps, Muncie, IN; two brothers: Thomas Likens and William Likens, both of Muncie, IN; five sisters: Shirley Brinley, Cross Plains, TX, Carolyn Allen, Muncie, IN, Linda Grizzle, Modoc, IN, Bonnie Tighe, Muncie, IN and Jean Harp, Pleasureville; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister.
A private service will be held later. Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville, is handling the arrangements.

Ollie Pierce, 80, of Pleasureville, died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at his home.
He is survived by his daughter: Sandra S. McQuaig, Louisville; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10th. Arrangements were handled by Neurath and Underwood Funeral Home.

Mrs. Noah (Martha Ellen Blackerby) Pinnell died at her home on March 29, 1911. She was born April 4, 1848, and was married to Mr. Pinnell on December 24, 1874. She joined the Baptist Church at the age of 17, and was a faithful worker giving all her Sunday eggs to the Foreign Missionary cause. She was a good neighbor and was faithful to her church until death. She leaves a husband and four daughters.

Mr. Noah Pinnell died April 4, 1929 being eighty-three years old. (He was born March 25, 1846.) In 1874 he married Miss Ellen Blackerby, united with the Sligo Baptist Church at the age of seventeen, served as a deacon of this church for over fifty years, missed only one church service during a period of twenty-six years, loved the companionship of preachers, read the Western Recorder for many years and was a man of firm convictions. He love his home, his church and above all his Saviour.
Four daughters and a multitude of friends morn the loss in the home going of this good man.

Alonzo Perry Pollard (1877-1952) died Friday at his home near Defoe after a long illness. He was born in Henry County, the son of the late Lucinda Kitson Pollard (April 12, 1837 � December 7, 1879) and Silas T. Pollard.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Union Church by Rev. Burrel Lucas, former pastor of the Elmburg Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. James Martin. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mollie Kemper Pollard (1883-1970), Defoe; one son: Jesse Pollard, Elmburg; two daughters: Mrs. Anna Harlow and Mrs. Alice Sewell, both of Louisville; one sister: Mrs. Martha McCarthy, Eminence; a grandson: Bobby Pollard, Elmburg and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. James L. �Red� Pollard, 77 of Pleasureville, died Friday, January 21, 1994 at the Kentucky Veterans Center in Wilmore. He was a retired Pleasureville merchant for 33 years, a 50 year member of the Pleasureville I.O.O.F Lodge and a member and a deacon of the Pleasureville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Minnie Atchison Pollard, Pleasureville; one daughter: Mrs. Elwyn (Shirley) Robinson, Gainesville, FL; one son: James E. Pollard, Eminence; One brother: Col. William F. Pollard, Pleasureville; one grandson and several step grand- children.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Monday, January 24th at the Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle. Rev. A. L. Meacham, LaGrange, officiated. Rev. Van Firestine, pastor of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church, assisted. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Mr. Ezra C. Pollard, 79, of Pleasureville, died Friday, October 19, 1984, at his residence. He was a member of the Harrods Creek Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.
He is survived by one son: Emery W. Pollard, Louisville; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; two brothers: James Leonard Pollard and William F. Pollard, both of Pleasureville; and two sisters: Mrs. Mary Frances Crosby and Mrs. Lurine Hamilton, both of Louisville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 21st at the Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Danny West officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Maxine S. Pollard, of Winchester, formerly of Eminence, died Saturday, May 27, 2006. She attended the Winchester First United Methodist Church but remained a member of the Eminence Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Richard A. (Nadine D.) Wathen, Louisville and Dr. W. R. (Deborah P.) Catron, Winchester; two sisters: Vivian Scott, Tucker, GA and Mona Mershon, Washington Courthouse, OH; seven grandchildren: Jim Raymond, Jean Leigh Gruenberg, Leslie Raymond, Elizabeth Catron, Will Catron, Robert Catron and Sarah Catron; three nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pollard and one sister.
Graveside services were held on June 2nd at the Port Royal Cemetery. Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle, was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Mary Frances Crosby, Louisville and Mrs. Lurline Hamilton, Louisville; three brothers: Ezra Pollard, Pleasureville, James L. Pollard, Pleasureville and William F. Pollard, Pleasureville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 1st at the Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Wayne Kelly officiated. Interment was in the pleasureville Cemetery.

Robert �Bob� Victor Pollard, (1906-1979), 73, of Eminence, died Tuesday, November 21, 1979, at 7 a.m. at his residence. He was a retired Property Valuation Administrator (County Tax Commissioner).
Hr. Pollard was also a Deputy Sheriff and Sherrif. At the same time he served a Municipal Clerk at Keeneland and Churchill Downs race tracks. He was also a Director of the Deposit Bank of Pleasureville, a member of the Masonic Lodge of New Castle, and for over 30 years was part owner of the Golden Burley and Sixth Street Tobacco Warehouses.
He was a member of the Eminence Baptist Church, an Eminence High School graduate, and served in the U. S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Maxine Strain Pollard; two daughters: Mrs. Lewis (Nadine) Raymond, Louisville and Mrs. Rick (Debbie) Catron, Winchester; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Port Royal Cemetery officiated bt Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church.

Mrs. Roy D. Pollard, 90, of LaGrange, died Tuesday, October 15, 1985, at Jefferson Manor, Louisville. She was a native of Oldham County, the former Bessie B. Bennett, a life resident of Oldham County and a member of the DeHaven Baptist Church, LaGrange.
She is survived by one son: Wendell S. Pollard, LaGrange; one granddaughter: Mrs. Robert (Theresa) Foley, Beaumont, TX; one grandson: Tommy L. Pollard, New Castle; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 17th at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. C. J. Alford, former pastor of Dehaven Memorial Baptist Church and Rev. William E. Day, pastor of DeHaven Memorial Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

She is survived by her husband: Howard Porter, Frankfort; three daughters: Mrs. Mary Lee Knox, Henry County, Mrs. Linda Smallwood, Frankfort and Mrs. Barbara Keith, Sparta; two sisters: Mrs. Melissa Wood, Pleasureville and Mrs. Melinda Wash, Frankfort and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 11th at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Grant Odell officiated. Interment was in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Dr. R. W. Porter, (December 18, 1873 � February 21, 1956) former resident of Henry County, died at his home in Punta Gorda, FL, where he had lived for the past eleven years.
Dr. Porter practiced in Port Royal and Pleasureville, a number of years ago. His wife, the former Bettie Brewer (1877-1955) of Henry County, died last June. He is survived by a grandson: R. C. Porter, Cincinnati and a great-grandson.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the grave in the Port Royal Cemetery.

William �Bill� Melvin Powars, 83, of LaGrange, formerly of Pendleton, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 in LaGrange. He was the owner/operator of the Lakeview Video Store, a member of the Crescent Hill Masonic Lodge # 820 and the son of the late Albert Powars and Annie Lou Lanham. He also served in the U. S. Army.
He is survived by two sons: Jeffrey Powars, Pendleton and Bill Powars, Louisville; one step-daughter: Roxanne Thompson, Atlanta, GA; one brother: Cecil Powars, Danville; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen. Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange, was in charge of arrangements.
