Kenneth Carroll Adams, 87, of Lexington, died Monday, December 6, 2010. He was a WWII Air Corps Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Roberts Adams, Lexington; three daughters: Linda Burrows and Kathy O�Daniel, both of Lexington and Dr. Jean Esse, Auburn, AL. and one son: Kenneth Carroll Adams, Jr., Peoria, IL.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday December 8th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis Burrows, pastor of the Southern Hills Methodist Church in Lexington, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Rebecca �Polly� Harlow Adcock, 85, of Smithfield, died Friday, December 3, 2010 at her residence. Daughter of the late Carl J. and Delia Mae Stewart Harlow, Sr. Polly was a member of the Eminence Christian Church.
She is survived by three daughters: Ramona Durbin, LaGrange, Barbara Renn, Jeffersonville, IN and Rebecca Noel Boyd, Smithfield; foster daughter: Lavinia Norris, Bedford; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald R. Adcock; two daughters: Linda Lee Adams and Joyce Vincent; one son: Bobby Ray Adams and two brothers: Carl J. Harlow, Jr. and Harvey Lee Kinman.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 7th, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home. Rev Keith Oditt, Interim Minister of the Eminence Christian Church officiated, assisted by Rev Sharon Fields of Paris. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Robert Lee Adcock, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Adcock of Turners Station, a veteran of the Air Force in Burma and India, was drowned in the Kentucky River near Port Royal, Sunday morning.
Adcock was with Jack Gwartney of Eminence and Robert Wilson of Turners Station. Adcock and Gwartney fell out of the boat and Wilson saved Gwartney. Adcock was swimming to the bank and Wilson thought he was able to get there. When they looked back Adcock had gone under and never came up.
The drowned youth was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Adcock. The father is Magistrate in District No. 3, on the Henry County Fiscal Court. His uncle, Bishop Adcock, was sheriff of Henry County the past term which ended January 1, this year.
Robert Lee was born and reared at Turners Station, served three years as Staff Sergeant with the Air Force in Burma and India and received his discharge about six months ago. He was employed in Louisville and was at home for the week-end when the accident happened.
Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. James Corbin, Louisville and Mrs. Scott Capito, Turners Station.
Funeral services were conducted at the residence at 2:30 p. m., Wednesday, with Rev. J. W. Parrish officiating, assisted by Rev. W. L. Cloud. Burial was in the3 Turners Station Cemetery with the Patrick Henry Post of the American Legion in charge.

George Aldridge, 36, formerly of Henry County, died at his home in Cropper at 5:00 p.m., Saturday.
He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Lucy Rucker Aldridge; two daughters: Martha Aldridge and Josephine Aldridge; one son: Billy Aldridge; two sisters, one brother and two half-brothers.
Funeral services were conducted at the residence at 2:00 p.m., Monday, with Rev. W. T. West, officiating, assisted by Rev. Minor Bottom. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Dora Sanders Aldridge, 77, died Monday at her home near Lockport. She was the widow of the late J. M. Aldridge. She is survived by four daughters and one son.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the residence with Rev. Parsell, Seventh Day Adventist, officiating. Interment was in the Wallace Burying Ground.

Florence Caplinger Arnsparger, 74, died at her home in Pleasureville at 1:00 a.m., Thursaday.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pleasureville Methodist Church, with Rev R. T. Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons: Clifton Arnsparger and Marion Arnsparger, both of Pleasureville; one daughter: Mrs. Garland Watkins, Pleasureville; one sister: Mrs. Alpha Coots, Louisville; one brother: Shelby Caplinger, Shelbyville; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

William Allen Bailey, 81, formerly of Eminence, died Tuesday. May 25, 2010, at Hosparus in Louisville. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughter: Margaret Penick, Louisville, and one son, Ronnie Bailey.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 29th, at Hathaway and Clark Funeral Home. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Mary Katherine Adams Banta, 86, of Pleasureville, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Baptist hospital Northeast in LaGrange. She was the daughter of the late Charles Clinton and Elizabeth Powell Adams.
She is survived by one son: Bill Banta, Georgetown, KY.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Pastor Jim McDaniel, Pt. Pleasant Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the Pt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Sam Barnett, 30, a lockman at the Portland Canal, Louisville, was drowned at 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, when he left his post to row to the bridge to turn off the lights of his car. A strong wind or the current swept him over the dam as he was returning. His body was recovered at midnight.
He is survived by his wife: Gertrude Underwood Barnett, formerly of Pleasureville; his parents: Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Barnett, Cropper; four sisters: Mrs. Betsy Gage, Mrs. Roy Jeffries, Misses Ann Ida Barnett and Ruth Barnett, all of Louisville; two brothers: Charles Barnett, Louisville, and Robert Barnett; and grandmother, Mrs. J. A. Sparks, Pleasureville.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday at the Thomas Funeral Home, Pleasureville.

Carlisle Barrickman, 54, was killed instantly Thursday at his home in Bagdad, when he was hit by a car.
He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Cleo Land Barrickman; one daughter: Mrs. Pete Swindler, Shelbyville; two sons: Edward Ellis Barrickman, in the Navy, and Buster Barrickman, recently discharged from the service and now at Bagdad; four brothers: Wallace, J. W., Ira Gordon and B. Barrickman.
Funeral services were conducted at the Bagdad Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m., Saturday. Burial was in the Bagdad Cemetery.

Sallie Ann Harris Beach, 59, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Jewish Hospital. She was the daughter of the late John C. Harris.

Mrs. Belia Beckley, 56, of Campbellsburg, wife of Joe Beckley, farmer, was killed instantly by a northbound L. & N. train at (:20 a.m., Sunday as she attempted to cross the railroad in front of her home to get a Sunday paper from the carrier.
Besides her husband she is survived by three sons: Pvt. Joe Beckley, U.S. Army in Missouri, Claude Beckley, Louisville and Ernest Beckley, Campbellsburg; and one daughter: Mrs. Noble Tingle.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, at the Campbellsburg Baptist Church.

Dr. Auryne E Bell, 47, widely known eye, ear, nose and throat specialist, of 1702 Cherokee Road, Louisville, who maintained offices in the Heyburn Building, died Monday at the Kentucky Baptist Hospital there.
Dr. Bell was a native of Eminence, the son of Dr. M. Bell and Mrs. Bell. He received his early education in the Eminence Public Schools.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday from Lee E. Cralle Company funeral home, Louisville. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Alice Hudson Bell; two daughters: Helen Bell and Alice Bell; a brother: Elbert Bell, Atlanta and his parents.

Betty C. Bell, 83, of Campbellsburg, died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at UK Hospital. She was the widow of Bill Bell. Born in Louisville, she was a daughter of the late William and Atha Cavinall.
Survivors are a daughter, Vicky (Phil) Posey; two granddaughters, Betsy Bechtold and Beth Chastain and two great- grandchildren, Jake and Clay Bechtold, both of Lexington.
There were no services or visitation. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Lexington, was in charge of arrangements.

Pryor T. Berry, 81, died Saturday night at his home near Lacie on the farm where he was born. He had been in failing health for several years but was confined to his home only three months prior to his death. He was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted at the residence at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, with Rev Ernest P. Russell, Pastor of the New Castle Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

John A. Billings, 71, of Greensburg, died Sunday, December 26, 2010. He was born on Marc h 5, 1939, in Oldham County, the son of Clayton and Imogene Thacker Billings. John attended Oldham County High School and later received his GED from Greensburg High School at the age of 50. One July 26, 1958 in Shelby County, he married Dorothy M. Timmons. He was a farmer, owner of Billings and Sons Sandblasting and worked for O�Mara Paving Company. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensburg and was an ordained Deacon at Union Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Billings, Greensburg; his mother: Imogene Billings, Pewee Valley; his children: Amada (Brian) Burlock, AZ, John Scott (Shawn Eddy), Monticello, and Michael (Criss) Billings, N.H.; grandchildren: Joshua, Casey, Cord, Grant, Paige, Morgan and R.J. �Bubby�; sisters: Barbara Williams, Rosalie Ashley, and Nancye Ashley Chilton; brother: Clayton (Mavis) Billings and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nannie Reid Booker, 92, formerly of Eminence, and widow of the late Samuel White Booker, former Mayor of Eminence and who served two terms as Shelby County Representative in the State Legislature, died Friday at Morgantown, NC, where she had lived since 1929. She was a native of Spencer County.
Funeral services were conducted at Ricketts Funeral Home in Eminence at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, with J. Gano Herndon officiating. Burial was in the Eminence Cemetery.
She is survived by a sister: Mrs. John Cain, New Albany, IN, two nieces and three nephews.

Lewis C. Carroll, 41, assistant law director in the City Law Department, Louisville, for three years, was found dead in bed at 6:00 a.m., Thursday by his wife, Mrs. Mary Gillespie Carroll, at their home. Carroll became ill Tuesday but appeared to be recovering Wednesday night, Mrs. Carroll said.
He was formerly assistant district attorney for two years under Eli H. Brown. A native of New Castle, he was the son of the late John D. Carroll, chief justice of the Kentucky Court of Appeals, and Mrs. Hallie Sanford Carroll.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Noel Carroll, and a son, John G. Carroll.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Pearson�s with burial in the New Castle Cemetery.

Ralph Chadwell, 80, of Eminence, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. Born in Christiansburg in Shelby County, he was the son of the late John and Myrtle Root Chadwell. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. A lifelong and dedicated farmer, he raised black, angus cattle and will be remembered for his passion for raising and riding Tennessee Walking horses.
He is survived by two sons: Garland Ray Chadwell and wife, Ann, Shelbyvilleand Mark Stuart Chadwell and wife, Janet, Simpsonville; one daughter: Deborah C. Derossett and husband, David, New Castle; his sister: Helen Chadwell Stratton and husband, Eddie; four grandchildren: Stuart, Tim, Hannah and Tess Marie Chadwell and two great-grandchildren, Lexis and Savannah. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric David Derossett and brother, Russell Chadwell.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 10th at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Rev. Jesse Baxter officiated. Interment was in the Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.

She is survived by five sons: Richard Montgomery, Eminence, James Farley, Frankfort, Thomas Fraley, Shelbyville, Shannon Clark, Clarksville, TN, Bobby Clark, New Castle; two daughters: Carlanna Clark, Shelbyville and Dana Clark, Georgetown; her brother: John T. Montgomery, Bagdad; her sister: Barbara McDaniel, Frankfort; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Carroll Ellis Clark; her twin sons: Donald Lee Riddle and Danny Ray Riddle; her sister, Shirley Clark and four brothers.

Charles M. Clements, 83, of Louisville, formerly of Lockport, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Norton Suburban Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was the son of Sidney Rowlett Clements, Sr. and Blanche Ellen Pate Clements.
He is survived by his wife: Audrey S. Clements, Louisville; and two sons: Stephen F. Clements and Robert C. Clements.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 6th, at the Fern Creek Funeral Home. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Rev. M. D. Clubb, 81, formerly of Henry County, died at his home in Stillwater, OK, Thursday, May 2nd. He was one of the oldest ministers of the Christian Church, having started his ministerial career when a young man in Henry County.
He was State Secretary in Tennessee and California for many years. He named the �World Call�, one of the leading missionary magazines.
Rev. Clubb is survived by one son: Merrill Dare Clubb and three grandsons:, all of Stillwater, OK. Burial was in Stillwater.

John O Coleman, 49, prominent farmer of the Pendleton community, died at his home at 8:45 a.m., Sunday, following an illness of several months.
He served as Henry County Tax Commissioner from 1938 to 1946. He is the past commander of the Patrick Henry Post of the American Legion, a director of the Henry County Farm Bureau for many years, was the first president of the Henry County Agricultural Adjustment Administration. At the time of his death he was a director of the Shelby County Rural Electric Cooperative which serves Henry County and the Falls City Milk Producers Association. He was a member of the Sulphur Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services were conducted at the residence at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday with Rev. Harvey Baker Smith of Marshall, MO officiating, assisted by Rev Lewis Kennedy, Pastor of the Sulphur Baptist Church. Burial was in the Sulphur Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Smith Coleman; a son: Jessie Otis Chisholm, both of Pendleton; five sisters: Mrs. W. K. Foree and Mrs. F. D. Arville Beckham �A. B.� Cox, Jr.
Arville Beckham �A. B.� Cox, Jr., 69, of Lockport, died Friday, November 12, 2010. He was born in Henry County, the son of Arville Beckham Cox, Sr., and Mattie McAllister Cox. Mr. Cox was a farmer and a member of the Lockport Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Nancy Kindred Cox, Lockport; one son: Melvin Lynn Stivers, Syracuse, IN; two daughters : Becky Cox, Bethlehem, and Robin K. Thompson, Frankfort; one sister: Maggie Hampton, Frankfort; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Arville Beckham Cox, III.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Paul Briscoe and Rev. Wayne Kelly officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Bondurant Cox, 74, died suddenly of a heart attack at her home near Lockport on June 22nd. She had been a member of the Methodist Church since she was eleven years old.
Funeral services were conducted at the Lockport Methodist Church, June 24th, with Rev. P. C. Long officiating. Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery. Her grandsons were pallbearers.
She is survived by her husband: Mat Cox; five daughters: Mrs. Cassie Thurmond, Mrs. Linnie Kelley, Mrs. Cordie O�Brien, Mrs. Anna Mae Floyd, and Mrs. Mary Frances Flint; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; her stepmother: Mrs. Cassie Bondurdant; six half sisters and one half brother.

Mrs. Cordia Crawford, 66, wife of Frank Crawford, Lacie, died at 1:00 p.m., Friday, at SS. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital, Louisville.
The remains were taken to the home of her daughters, Mrs. J. D. Roberts, Franklinton, Friday night. Funeral services were conducted at Drennon Chapel, of which she was a member, Sunday with Rev. Carl Whirley, Pastor of the Port Royal Baptist Church, officiating.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Roberts, Franklinton, two sons: Sam Roberts, Lexington, and Jim Roberts, Lacie; two brothers: W. S. Jones, New Castle, and John Jones, Louisville; five sisters: Mrs. Allie Henderson and Mrs. Mrs. Willie Robertson, Gratz., Mrs. Grace Tingle and Mrs. Lacie Roberts, Eminence and Mrs. Ollie Adams, Drennon. Several grandchildren also survive and one, Miss Wilma Kelley, made her home with her grandparents.

Elick Crawford, 60, a farmer in Henry, Carroll and Trimble Counties all his life, died at his home on the Lacie-Port Royal Road Monday night, July 29, 1946, at 8:30, after five years of illness of creeping paralysis. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Whit Crawford. He united with the Baptist Church at Franklinton as a small boy.
He was married to Hallie Stangle, March 24, 1910. He is also survived by five daughters: Mrs. Clara Moore, Turners Station, Mrs. Mary B. Devine, Campbellsburg, Mrs. Martha Raisor, Worthville, Mrs. Helena Raisor, Port Royal and Miss Evelyn Nancy Crawford, Port Royal; four sons: James Scott Crawford, Milton, Chester Lindsay Crawford, Campbellsburg, Estill B. Crawford, Glendale, CA, and Lawrence Lego Crawford, Port Royal; three sisters: Mrs. Ida Payton, Campbellsburg, Mrs. Sara Payton, new Castle and Mrs. Melvina King, Louisville; one brother: George Crawford, Perry Park; and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Port Royal Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with Rev Carl Whirley officiating. Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Floyd Owen Creek, 86, of New Castle, died Thursday, October 14, 2010. Formerly of Louisville, he was the original owner of Suburban Dry Cleaners and other businesses in Jefferson County. He was also owner/operator of Eminence Cleaners. He was a WW II Army Veteran and had a strong work ethic.
He is survived by his daughter: Nancy Creek Jackson and her companion David Ellingsworth, Sr., New Castle; two sons: Norman Creek and wife, Janie, LaGrange and Richard Creek and his wife, Andrea, Louisville; close friend /companion, Sylvia Downey, Eminence; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Marie Creek.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 18th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Gina Miller, Louisville, officiated. Interment was in the Harrod�s Creek Cemetery in Brownsboro.
