John Nalley, Jr.
John William Nalley, 15, of LaGrange, formerly of Henry County, died Sunday, may 18, 2003 in Spencer County. He was a native of Oldham County, and a freshman at the Oldham County High School. He is survived by his parents: Mr. and Mrs. John William Nalley, Sr., LaGrange; one sister: Jessica L. Nalley, Trimble County; two brothers: Bobby Turner, Campbellsburg and Jacob Nalley, LaGrange; Grandparents: Nancy Hallman, Smithfield, J. W. Nalley and Charlene Bays, both of New Castle; and Jim Sanders, Lagrange. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on May 22, 2003 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Coleman, Pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

John �JW� Nalley, Sr., 65, of New Castle, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009. He was the son of the late John Thomas and Margaret Justice Nalley. He is survived by his wife: Sallie Ricketts Nalley, New Castle; two daughters: Margaret Lee (John) Bowman, New Castle and Carol Ann (Troy) Suter, Eminence; three sons: Thomas Wesley (Margie) Nalley, LaGrange, John William (Diane) Nalley, Bedford and John Wesley (Chastity) Nalley, Jr., New Castle; one sister: Callie Beatrice Crawford, Turners Station; seventeen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A private memorial service was held. Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gary Neale, 49, of Campbellsburg, died Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at his residence. He was a member of the Locust Baptist Church, Milton. He was the son of the late Carroll E. Neale. Hs e is survived by his wife: Darlene Hirst Neale, Campbellsburg; one daughter: Sarah (Steve) Hill, Carrollton; two sons: Paul A. Neale, Campbellsburg, and Joshua W. neale, Sparta; his mother: Eva M. Neale, New Castle; two sisters: Janet (Michael) Crowe, New Castle and Marcia (Michael) Hill, Carrollton; one brother: David C. Neale, Deer Park, WA; one step-daughter: Brittany Hirst, Zephyrhills, FL and three grandchildren. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Dr. David Charlton, Pastor of the New Castle First Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.

Isabel Bennett Nelson, 82, of Louisville, died Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Christopher East Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Louise Moreland Bennett, attended Oak Park Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, IN and was a homemaker. She is survived by one brother: Evan Bennett, Elizabethtown; one sister: Lurene Henderson, Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Martin Nelson and one son, Gerry Michael Nelson. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3rd at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Tommy Nelson officiated. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

John W. (J. W.) Nelson, 82, of Eminence, died Monday, march 25, 2002 at his residence. He was a native of Shelby County, the son of the late Walter and Lucinda Stivers Nelson, a retired farmer and a member of the Eminence Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: LaVerne Meriweather Nelson, Eminence; three sons: John Paul Nelson and Billy Nelson, both of Louisville and Jim Nelson, Frankfort; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son: Bobby Nelson. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28th, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Duncan, Pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Mary Ethel Craig Newman, 91, of Pleasureville, died Monday, October 8, 2012, at Jewish Hospital, Shelbyville. She was born in Frankfort, the daughter of the late Marshall Thurman and Elizabeth Gayhart Craig. She was a homemaker and had worked at Brunswick Manufacturing. She was a member of the Christian faith. She is survived by one son: Teddy Newman, Pleasureville; daughter: Dana D. Newman Courtney, Graham, NC; grandchildren: Emma Dale Newman, Lawrenceburg, IN and James Newman, Fort St. Lucia, FL, young friend: Christian Courtney and several cousins. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11th at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Howard Lee Byers officiated. Interment was in the Defoe Cemetery.

W. I. �Nick� Nichols, 85, of Pleasureville, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Spencer, WVA, and was the son of the late Benjamin H. and Rebecca Marie Ray Nichols. He was a retired first sergeant of the U. S. Army, being a 26-year veteran during the time from WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam. He served eighteen years as Pleasureville Police Chief and was a game warden in Alaska and Alabama for three years. He was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Juanita BeBord Nichols, Pleasureville; one son: Kenny (Vicky) Nichols, Pleasureville; two daughters: Jerri Lynn Scott and Rebecca Marie (Larry) Holcomb all of Campbellsburg; two brothers; four sisters; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services, with military honors, were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of the Eminence Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Bonny June Fowler Parks, 91, of Pleasureville, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at Crestview in Shelbyville. She was born September 25, 1920, in Berea, to the late June W. and Nora McCormick Fowler. She became a member of the Smithfield Baptist Church in 1953 after relocating from Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: T. Edward Parks and a brother: John T. Fowler. She is survived by two sons: T. Edward (Regina) Parks, Jr., Pleasureville and Stephen June ( Linda) Parks, New Castle; two daughters: Marolyn (Larry) Smith and Carolyn Durst, all of Anchorage; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at noon Thursday, August 30th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Sister Linda Morgan, Pastor of Christ Open Door Church, Sligo, officiated. Interment was in the Smithfield Cemetery.

Carl E. Parrissh, 73, of Lexington, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at the Lexington Center for Health and Rehabilitation. He was a native of Henry County and formerly of Lockport, a retired sales manager for Clark Equipment Corp., former president of the Baltimore Colts Corral, U.S. Veteran of the Korean War, and the son of the late Leslie and Mary Wallace Parrish. He is survived by a daughter: Nancy (David) Asendorf, Hampstead, Maryland; seven sisters: Mildred Hohmann, Graove City, PA, Josephine Payne, Frankfort, Helen (Andrew) Frost, Williamsburg, Marylena (James Robert) Bryant, Franklinton, Maudedena Leigh, Memphis, TN, Betty (Kenneth) McCardwell and Patsy (Donald) Williams, both of Campbellsville; three brothers: Wallace Parrish, Frankfort, Woody Parrish, Lockport and Lester Parrish, Paris; a friend: JoAnn Wolfe, Lexington; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ella Breese and Catherine Spicer, and four brothers: Boyd, Roy, Oscar and Charles Parrish. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June6th. Rev. Harold Dorsey, former pastor of the Lockport United Methodist Church, officiated, assisted by Dell Jones, Lexington. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Viola Sharp Payton, 74, of New Castle, died Thursday, June 5, 2003 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Ruby Holmes Sharp, a retired nurses aide with Central State Hospital, Louisville, and a member of the New Castle United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son: Carol Ray Payton, Cox�s Creek; two sisters: Wanda Mahoney, Toledo, OH and Elizabeth (Melvin) Wright, Turners Station; three brothers: Leslie Sharp and Phillip Sharp, both of Sunray, TX, and Drexel Sharp, Turners Station: three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 9th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev Garry Polston, Pastor of the New Castle United Methodist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Forrest B. Chilton, Middletown. Interment was in the Franklinton Cemetery.

Minnie Atchison Pollard, 87, of Pleasureville, died Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Clara Belle Terrell Atchison, She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasureville United Methodist Church. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Pollard, two brothers, Ray and Owen Atchison, and her son-in-law, Elwyn Robinson. She is survived by one daughter: Shirley Robinson, Gainesville, FL; one son: Jimmy (Debbie) Pollard, Pleasureville; two brothers: Charles Atchison, Shelbyville and Marvin Atchison, Smithfield; two grandsons: Joey Pollard and Josh Merritt; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6th, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Herman Rader, 86, of Milton, died Sunday, March 28, 2004 at the Healthcare Center, Bedford. He was the son of the late Elisha and Polly Castile Rader, a farmer and truck driver and a member of the Milton Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Laura Marsh Rader, Milton; three sons: Melvin Rader, Defoe, Marvin Rader, Milton and David Rader, Warsaw; one daughter: Carla (Danny) Blackburn, Oneida; one sister: Dora Barker, Richmond; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31st at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford. Rev. Ferrill Davis officiated.

Warrena Foree Reid, 97, of Louisville, died Monday, November 4, 2012 at Wesley Manor Retirement Center, Louisville. She was born August 31, 1915 in Henry County to Warren K. and Elizabeth Jane Coleman Foree. Warrena was a long time member of the Cooper Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters: Elizabeth �Bette� Cory, Bloomington, IN, Sheile Lynn Saunders, Tierra Verde, FL and Deborah Ray (Ricky) Callahan, Gray, GA; two brothers: Joseph (Bonnie) Foree, Campbellsburg and William (Bonnie) Foree, Sr., Louisville; ten grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband of 60 years, George �Reid� Carroll Reid, a daughter, Marjorie Ann Reid, five sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10th at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Rucker officiated. Interment was in the Sulphur Cemetery.
Lloyd Roberts, 44, of Bethlehem, died at 10:00 a.m. Monday as a result of an auto-truck accident. He was a farmer. Survivors include his wife: Florence Roberts, Bethlehem; two daughters: Eloise and Marcella Roberts, Bethlehem; a son: Hollis Roberts, Bethlehem; his mother: Anna Roberts, Bethlehem; sister: Mrs. Obie Heightchew and a brother: Raymond Roberts. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Bethlehem Methodist Church with Rev. Giles Kirkland officiating. Buiral was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Dalton J. Stangle, 82, of Hawesville, formerly of Bedford, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the VA Hospital, Louisville. He was a guard at the KY State Reformatory, a member of the Good Shepherd Church, Owensboro, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife: Rebecca White Stangle, Hawesville; five sons: Dale Stangle, Connorsville, IN, Maurice Stangle, Campbellsburg, Joe mark Gaynor, Hawesville, Michael E. Gaynor, Cannelto, IN and Timothy Gaynor, NC; two daughters: Barbara Gail Stangle, Campbellsburg and Cynthia Oost, Owensboro; three brothers: L. G. Stangle, Lexington, IN, Wayne Stangle, AZ, and Robert �Ernie� Stangle, Turners Station; five sisters: Shirley Rayburn and Loraine Kuhlman, both of Bedford, Geneva Looney, Tyler TX, DeEtta Sanders, Covington and Linda Proctor, Carrollton; and fourteen grandchildren.
