Pamela Tipton

 

          Pamela Gordon Tipton, 48, died suddenly on Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Phoenix, AZ.

            She is survived by two daughters: Kim Thompson, Shelbyville and Katey Gordon, Eminence; one son: David Gordon, Phoenix, AZ; and mother: Patsy Wilson, Shelbyville.

            A memorial service was held.  Shannon Funeral Home, Shelbyville, was in charge

of arrangements.

Lucy Underwood

 

          Lucy Ileana Speed Underwood, 82, of Louisville, formerly of Pleasureville, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville.  She was born in Defoe and was the daughter of the late Arthur Lindon and Mary Jessie Chadwell Speed.  She was retired as owner/operator of Troy Ann’s Beauty Salon and was a member of the Point Pleasant Christian Church.

            She is survived by one niece: Helen (Larry) Erwin; one nephew: Tom (Donna) Payton; one great-niece: Felicia (Jimbo) Baker; one great-great-niece: Maray Baker; one great-great-nephew: William Baker, all of Franklinton, and friend: Thomas Welch, Louisville.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18th, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville.  Rev. Jackie Newton of the Franklinton Baptist Church officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Dorothy VanDyke

 

          Dorothy Mae VanDyke, 82, of LaGrange, formerly of Eminence, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at Baptist Hospital Northeast, LaGrange.  She was the daughter of the late Dessie Irene St. Clair and Elmer Lee Williams, a homemaker, and a member of the DeHaven Memorial Baptist Church.

            She is survived by two sons: Ty Carpenter, Lexington and John E. VanDyke, Middletown; two daughters: Jean Knight, LaGrange and Jerri Quillman, Louisville; one half-brother: Robert Rowland, Ohio; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wendell VanDyke.

            Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 6th at Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange.  Rev. Rick Davidson officiated.  Burial was in the Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange.

Ross Coleman Wallace, Jr.

 

            Ross Coleman Wallace, Jr., 17, of Pleasureville, died Friday night as a result of an automobile accident.  He was a senior at Henry County High School.

            Survivors include his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Ross Wallace, Sr., Pleasureville; four sisters: Mrs. Marvin Atchison and Mrs. Marshall D. Clubb, both of Pleasureville, Mrs. Charles Young, Lyndon and Ireta Gatlin and his grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wallace, Frankfort.

            The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pleasureville Baptist Church.  Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Joseph O. Wilson

 

            Joseph O. Wilson, 37, of Turners Station, died suddenly Wednesday, May 5, 1976, at his residence.  He was a member of the Turners Station Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

            He is survived by three daughters: Angela Lynn Wilson, Lori Anne Wilson and Andrea Adele Wilson, Bowling Green; two sons: Joseph Trent Wilson and Michael Brett Wilson, Bowling Green; his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Wilson, Turners Station; one sister: Patsy (Harold) Price and two brothers: Travis Dean Wilson and Kenton Alan Wilson, Turners Station.

            The funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Duruard Knowler, Pastor of the Turners Station Baptist Church, officiated.  Burial was in the Port Royal Cemetery.

Lee Whittinghill

 

          Lee “Strawberry” Whittinghill, 49, of Lockport, died suddenly Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Jewish hospital, Shelbyville.  He was the son of the late Pete and Eula Wainscott, a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a retired employee with Jeff Boat Company.

            He is survived by two daughters: Sondra (Jason) Hendrix, Lexington and Gwen Whittinghill, Louisville; two sisters: Myra Whittinghill, Pleasureville and Wendy Cartwright, Clarksville, IN.

            Cremation was chosen.  A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9th at Lockport KY River Dam.  Rev. Robin Roberts, Pastor of the Turners Station Baptist Church, officiated.  Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Nadine Wilson

 

          Nadine Glenrose Roberts Wilson, 84, of Eminence, died Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Homestead Nursing Center, New Castle.  Daughter of the late Willie and Lou Lil Bell Roberts, she was a homemaker and a member of the Eminence Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years.

            She is survived by daughters: Louise (Mike) Bayne and Betsy Jackson, all of Eminence; one sister-in-law: Mary E. Roberts, Pleasureville; half-sister: Peggy (Orville0 LeMay, Frankfort; half-brother: Mack (Geraldine) Roberts, Pleasureville; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Wilson, her son: David Wilson, son-in-law, Everett Jackson, Jr., a great-grandson, Quentin Chase Lyons; six sisters and two brothers.

            Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3rd, at Prewitt Eminence Funeral Home.  Bro. Ed Berry, Pastor of the Henry Christian Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Eminence Cemetery.

Vicki Wilson

 

          Vicki Wise Wilson, 57, joined her parents: John and Clara Jennings, in her 57th year on July 28, 2012. 

            She is survived by two step-children: Stephanie and Robbie Wilson; four sisters: Sandra Jones, Rhonda Garrett and Judy Harney, all of Campbellsburg and Pamela Stewart, Michigan, and two brothers –in-law: Thomas Garrett and David Stewart.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Wilson.

            A private memorial service was held.

Pauline Wood

         

          Pauline McCarty Wood, 85, of Louisville, died Sunday, June 8, 2003 at the Hart Family Care Home, Louisville.  She was the daughter of the late Keller and Melissa Baker McCarty, a homemaker, and a member of the Pleasureville Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter: Brenda Shope, Louisville; one sister: Wanda Rossell, Bunnell, FL; one grandchild: and one great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wood.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12th at Shannon Funeral Home.  Rev. Jerry Anderson, Pastor of the Pleasureville Baptist Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.

Dorothy Wright

 

          Dorothy E. Wright, 95, of Turners Station, died Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Homestead Nursing Center, new Castle.  She was the daughter of the late McKinley and Iona Glenn Wright.

            She is survived by two sons: Laymon Wright and Harold Wright, both of Turners Station.

            Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31st at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.  Rev. Carl Rucker of Campbellsburg officiated.  Interment was in the Port Royal Cemetery.
