Amanda S. Walker Hill was born in Henry County, Kentucky on April 9, 1816. She was the daughter of James Walker and his second wife, Eliza S. Oliver. Amanda was the oldest of six children born to James and Eliza. Her other siblings included Parthenia, William Henry Walker, Richard Horace, Theodore M. and Thiza M. She also had one younger half sister, Emma D. Amanda married William L. Hill on December 17, 1834, in Henry County, Kentucky. William predeceased her in 1864. She died on Janary 19, 1891, at the home of her daughter Minta Tidrick. James and Lucy Tingle Hicks. James, the son of Rice and Harriet Swango Hicks was born May 15, 1869 in Gallatin Co., KY, and died January 26, 1952 in Carroll Co., KY. He married Lucy Gay Tingle October 13, 1895 in Henry Co., Kentucky, daughter of James Tingle and Elizabeth Jones. James and Lucy lived and are buried in Port Royal, Kentucky. They had 10 children, including: Floyd Leslie, Pleasant B., Elizabeth Ann, Prentice, Lego, Sophia, Vernice Lee, Morris and Robert Edwards. Photo courtesy of Ed Hill.

Horace William and Mattie Lee LaMaster Hill. Horace, the son of William L. and Amanda Walker Hill, was born in June 1853 in Henry County, Kentucky and died in the same county on August 17, 1901. Martha, who was always called Mattie, was born on March 6, 1864, in Henry County, Kentucky and died in the same county on April 6, 1934. She was the daughter of Benjamin Lamaster and Sophronia Scott. Above is a picture of the, perhaps on their wedding day. The had six children who lived beyond infancy - one daughter and five sons including: Ora Clyde, William Weldon, Charles Prather, Orrin Todd, Horace Leslie and Marshall Tyler. After Horace's death, Mattie remarried John Breckenridge Pyles. They had one child who lived beyond childhood: Martha Vaughan Pyles. Photo courtesy of Ed Hill.
