This Indenture made and entered into this the 17th day of September 1869 

by and between Wm Crouch of the first part and R. D. Curtis of the other 

part all of Hopkins County and State of Kentucky: - Witnesseth that the 

said Wm Crouch for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred Dollars 

to him in hand paid doth grant bargain & sell and Doth by these presents 

grant bargain sell and convey unto the said R. D. Curtis, his heirs, and 

assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in 

Hopkins County ___ on the waters of Brattons creek bounded as follows 

beginning at a Hickory A. L. Vannoy S.E. Corner to a 50 acre tract running 

Thence N 75 W with the line of said 50 acre tract 67 ½ poles to two 

hickories and an ash in the line of said 50 acre tract of land.  Thence 

S 15 W 16 ½ poles to a stone in said line thence S 75 E 67 ½ poles to a 

stone in Eastern boundary line of Wm. A. Hewlets 50 acre tract.  Thence

N 55 E 16 ½ poles to the beginning containing 7 acres more or less to have 

and to hold the afore described tract of land with all the rights, profits, 

emoluments, hereditaries (?) and appurtenances therein to the said R. D. 

Curtis his heirs and assigns forever and the said Wm Crouch for himself 

heirs and assigns doth covenant to warrant and forever defend the title 

of said land and premises to the said R. D. Curtis his heirs and assigns 

forever against himself his heirs and all other persons whomsoever in 

testimony whereof the said Wm Crouch hath hereunto set his hand and seal 

the day and date first above written.

I W. W. Cook clerk of the County Court for Said county do certify that 

the foregoing deed from Wm Crouch to R. D. Curtis was produced to me 

Stamped as the law directs and Acknowledged by Wm Crouch to be his act 

and deed on Sept 17th 1869 & the Same together with this certificate bath 

been duly recorded in my office this 1st day of January 1870.
