West Hopkins 1964-65 Rebels Basketball Team
Kneeling: Mgr. Rickey Kingery, Bobby Helm, Marshall Lutz, Darrell Allen, Jim Childers, Arnold Walker.
Standing: Roger Staton, Jim Beshear, Tommy Hobgood, Larry Towe, Richard Langley, Dickie Cates, Larry Rogers. Tommy Hobgood received All-County, All-7th District, All-2nd Region, and All-State honors in high school, among others. He set a school record scoring 60 points at Fordsville in 1965. He played college basketball for Kentucky Wesleyan, where in 1969 he led his team to the NCAA Division II National Basketball Championship, being one of five players named to the 1969 NCAA Division II All-Tournament Team. He was inducted into the Hopkins County Central High School Hall of Fame in 2005.
