Mullins, Mattie was born March 19, 1886 and deceased December 5, 1971, making
her stay on earth 85 years, 8 months and 16 days. She was the daughter of
Isabelle Stamper and John Madden. At the age of 24 she was married to Newton
Mullins. To this union were born two girls and two boys. Lurla Mae the oldest
preceded her in death. Olive Everage, Marcus and Luther are left to mourn her
passing. Also remaining are five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two
sisters and one brother. Mattie Mullins joined the Old Regular Baptist Church in
1955 and placed her fellowship with the Little Bethlehem Church to which she was
a faithful member until her death. Her favorite song was "I Want to Live so I'll
be Ready" and we feel that she was ready. She took every opportunity to tell her
neighbors and children that she was ready to go. She so enjoyed going to church
and encouraged her children to do so. She left this world after many months of
long suffering and we feel she is at peace with God where her suffering will be
no more. We have lost a kind and loving mother, but the will of God must be
done.
