1. William Holliday Senior. Born in Ireland.
Emigrated from Ireland (near Belfast) with two other brothers and their families about 1796. On landing in the US William settled in Laurens County, S.C. His two brothers objected to settling in slave states. One settled in Northwest Pennsylvania (the Hollidays about Winchester, Va are the descendants of the brother that settled in Penn) and the other further west, in Ohio or Illinois. All had families. Named in his will his wife Jenny, sons William, Robert Alexander, and Matthew and his daughter's Nancy and Margaret. His list of property included his 'still'.
He married Jane Cooper.
Of Scottish descent. Had no relatives in States that Henry Burroughs Holliday had ever heard of. Nicknamed 'Jenny'

Moved to Cotton Gin Fort, Miss. Died near there, leaving several children, boys and girls.

Married a Miss Dean and had 1 boy and 3 (?) girls. Moved from Laurens Co., S.C. to Cass Co, GA about 1836, lived there 2 years and moved to Miss. nera Cotton Gin fort on the Tombigby river and died there.

8. Henry Burroughs Holliday. Born 11 Mar 1819 in Laurens Co., South Carolina. Died 22 Feb 1893 in At home, Valdosta, Georgia, USA.
Was considered well to do. In 1864 the family moved to Lowndes County, Ga., where Henry acquired 3500 acres of land. Major AOM 27 Ga Inf-Confederate Army no descendants Died at East Savannah Ave address.
He second married Rachel Martain.
He first married Alice Jane McKey, 8 Jan 1849 in Henry Co., Georgia. Born 21 Apr 1829 in South Carolina. Died 16 Sep 1866 in Griffin, Spaulding County, Georgia, USA. Buried in City Cemetery, Griffin, Georgia, USA.
Marriage license applied for in Fayet. City Cemetery became Sunset Hill Cemetery in 1918.

10 month older than John Henry Holliday, Attended Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery with John Henry with the intention of sharing a practice in Atlanta. Is grandfather of Karen Tanner's mother. Karen lives in Fallbrook, CA (1995)
