Minutes for 1838 - no minutes Jan through April.

May - John JONES Moderator. Holly Springs Church sent request for
         Jessey MOON to come to their July meeting and held in the
         ordination of William SCAGGS. Agreed. Letter of dismission
         sent to Salsberry JONES and wife Sevany A JONES.

Jun - Jessey MOON, moderator. Smiths Grove Baptist Church
        request helps in the ordination of minister; MOON, Jessey 
        C ROWNTREE & Ritchard RAY to attend, David CUTLIPP
        in case of failure. Recvd David BRATTEN by experience.

Jul - John JONES, moderator. Discussion on a stove for the church.

Aug - James STROWD to see WIlliam WOMAC to see why he
         hasn't been baptised yet. Ritchard RAY to see William
         CLAYTON for same.

Sep - Both cases above continued.

Oct - Jessey MOON, moderator. WOMAC's case taken up, he
        excluded for refusing to be baptised. CLAYTON's case cont.
        Austin CLAYTON sent for at next meeting to see why he is
        not attending; Warren MOORE & Ritchard RAY to see him.

Nov - John JONES, moderator. Wm CLAYTON not there, cont.
        Warren MOORE & Ritchard RAY along with J C ROWNTREE
        to see him. Austin CLAYTON's case taken up, was there,
        made satisfaction.

Dec - Jessey MOON, moderator. Wm CLAYTON cont.
