Case of COLE vs MOORE, continued. Richard RAY and John HERRINGTON to request helps from Sinking Creek Church. John STRODE to request helps from Smiths Grove Church. Feb - John DAVIDSON Moderator. Same case taken up - neither of the men in the case present, case continued with thanks to the church representatives. These included Grove Church, Sinking Creek. Elijah JONES and William GARDNER to again request help. Mar - Bro CLAYTEN moderator. Helps there again. From Sinking Creek: Brothers DASS, GREER, WALLACE and William Clayton. From Grove Church: Thomas SMITH, John C SMITH and William MURPHEY. Added were the following: Elijah JONES, Jesse JONES, Richard RAY, John VEEL, Asle DAVIS, David CUTLIP and William GARDNER. John ROWNTREE chosen clerk. After hearing the report it was decided that Warren MOORE should pay 1/7th of the replevin bond executed by James H COLE and William SHACKLEFORD, executodrs of Robert MOORE decd to Peter SMITH (Warren Co case). The full amount of a bond that Mary MOORE gave to Shackleford against William MURPHY to be first applied to the payment of the board? (likely bond) May - Jacob LOCKE moderator. Church called on Warren MOORE to comply with the order of last month but he refused to do so, giving him another month. Choice of deacon to be decided. Jun - MOORE agreed to comply. Eliza REDDICK applied for fellow- ship and was received as per letter from the Baptist Church at Charles VA. Church chose a deacon and Associational messengers. Elijah JONES elected deacon by almost a unanimous vote. Jul - Jacob LOCK moderator. Brother Charles, a black man of Martin ELMORE produced a letter of dismission from Holley Spring Church and was recvd as member here. Richard RAY complained about the church allowing Brother Peter marry the woman who is now his wife. To be discussed next meeting. Aug - Elijah DAVIDSON moderator. Complaint from last month taken up. To be continued, Frederick FORT to request Peter to attend and answer equestions. James H COLE complained agaisnt FORT since FORT had received property from an estate and refuses to give COLE receipt. Next meeting. Sep - Jacob LOCK moderator. Richard RAY spoke and wished to drop the charges against Peter, case dismissed. Then the case of COLE against FORT and FORT ordered to give COLE a receipt. Fort refused and asked to be excluded from the church. Granted. No further minutes for rest of year.
