Mar - Recvd Francis REAVES by letter, Charlotta POLSTON by exp, Jeremiah SOLLOMON by exp; Moses HURT and wife Martha by letter and James SMELSON by letter. Jul - James CRAIG retained as sexton and Sister Remelia TALBOT will sweep the house. Sep - James and John BALLENGER recvd by experience. Oct - church notices that some of its members are going to another church: G C WOODSON, Jesse CAMPBELL and Molly NOLAND. 1875: Feb - Recvd J W WILLSON & Sister E J WILLSON by letter, J C SELVAGE and Sister Jane SELVAGE by letter. Apr - Recvd a msg from Beech Bottom Church asking for help in ordaining a minister & 2 deacons. Old Sister Elizabeth HICKMAN has died. May - Rufus K DICK requested restoration to the church; a committee appt: James COLE, P H SMITH, C P GRAY, J E REAVES & R W WOOD to investigate. The met & read the report - had been excluded for immoral conduct & heresy; noted his mind had been fractured and hurt. Restored him to membership and re-recognized him as a minister. Hellen WOOD dismissed by letter. James COLE, R W WOOD & J E REAVES to see about securing a lot of ground and the spring for the use of the church. Siste Polley PIERCE died 2 May 1875. Jul - J C SELVAGE named pastor with Bro DENTON. Aug - Protracted meeting: Recvd Jesse EWING, J LEE, Louisa HUDDLESTON, Perry POLESTON, Ambrose MARCOMB, Wiley DOWN, Polly DOWN, Pleasant HUDDLESTON, Frank PIERCE by exp & Livinia R JOHNSON by letter. Sep - Purchased the lot. Nov: AHIAL UPCHURCH & C P GRAY to see Wiley DOWN, Pleasant HUDDLESTON and Ambrose MARCOMB to see why they haven't been baptised; some rumor of them behaving badly. Dec - Wiley DOWNS & Pleasant HUDDLESTON found guilty of bad conduct and refused to be baptised, excluded. Ambrose MARCOMB ready to be baptised but is waiting until he gets over a spell of sickness.
