Messengers were sent to Concord Baptist Church in Barren Co, to Fountun Run and to Scaggs Creek churches for assistance. Individuals sent included Wm MURPHY, Wm C SCOTT, Peter NEWMAN and Joel FLOWERS. Services started 9 Apr 1835 and the following were present: From Concord: Seth BRADSHAW, John A SCRIVNER, Joseph HUCKABY, Erasmus TRACY and James R BEAM. From the Fountain Run church: James CAMPBELL, Moses CAMPBELL, Isaac GARMON, Kinchen D DOSSY and Harden CELCER. From Skaggs Creek: Joshua WILBORN, Thomas SCRIVNER. Elder Thomas SCRIVNER pronounced them a church. Member received that first service included Janet E TAYLOR (by experience). Wm C SCOTT was appointed the Clerk and the name chosen as Indian Creek Church. 9 May 1835: William WADE received by letter. Nonimations for places to build the church structure held over until June with Scott LANE, Gordon FLOWERS and Bro WADE to make recommendations. 12 June 1835: Wm WADE named assistant clerk. 10 July 1835: Deacons appt: Bro MURPHEY and FLOWERS and to represent the church at the associational meeting. J FLOWERS, W WADE & W SCOTT appointed Trustees for the church. 7 Aug 1835: Wm WADE came before church and acknowledged he had done wrong and was sorry. 12 Sept 1835: Elders Joshua WELBORN and Thos SCRIVNER ordained deacons. W WADE's case continued, next meeting at house of William C SCOTT. 9 Oct 1835: Received Judith BRANCH. Bro WADE's case brought up and decision held until Nov. 13 Nov 1835: Bro WADE absent, case held. Wm JORDAN asked for letter of dismission, granted. 12 Dec 1835: Bro WADE's case laid over until next meeting; they found he was bringing a suit in law against his father contrary to Gospel rules.
