Recvd the following: James H GRAVES, Lucy A GRAVES, Ova GRAVES, Lettita DENHAM, Mary J DENHAM, A C SHIVE and J W LANDRUM. Excluded bro J D NELSTED for using profane language and other charges. J T DOWNING appt to attend Sabbath School Convention held at Mt. Pleasant. Apr - Church refused to grant Steven AYERS letter of dismission - was selling spirits and liquors against the law of the county. D E DOWNING presented a charge against John AUSTIN & James JORDAN for fighting. E F JORDAN, Flippin KIRBY, W J DOSEY and D N JOHNSON appt to se them. May - H S EVANS preached. Report that AYERS had not replied re his conduct. Those charged with fighting in Apr made satisfaction. Jun - J PATTERSON preached. Further time given to AYERS. July - John PATTERSON preached. Rcvd by letter Elbert ARTERBURN & wife July A and their daus Mary T & Sarah E. Recvd by experience Molly STEEN (now dead). Reference against Steven AYERS taken up; wrongs righted. Aug - Same minister. Recvd by experience & baptism Lucy Ann TURNER and Lucy Ann BRYANT. Discussed repairs to the church house - thinks the property should be fenced in, painting done, roof fixed, new locks installed. D E DOWNING, T B NEAL, W J DOSSEY committee. $33.00 paid to the pastor; J M NEAL, E F JORDAN, D N JOHNSON to solicit pledges for pay to the pastor. Sep - H S EVANS preached. $43. in pledges received. Church to make a call for a pastor & by private vote F C CHILDRESS chosen; he to be notified. Oct - F C CHILDRESS preached. Pledges up to $50. But F C said he could not heed the call of the church; church to give him further time to decide. Nov - Church granted use of the building to house the Sabbath School for a celebration. Dec - PATTERSON preached. Letter of dismission granted Steven AYERS. F C CHILDRESS accepted the call as pastor.
