Jan - no business done

Feb - John PATTERSON preached. R L LANDRUM, J W NEAL
         J M DOSEY to employ sexton for the year and take a collection
         to pay for him.

Mar - Same minister. Received by experience Jessey WHEELER,
         Zachariah WHEELER. J C SMITH granted letter of dismission.
         T B NEAL employed as sexton, to be paid $18 annually.
         Recvd by experience & baptism: William ENGLAND, Marthy
         S ENGLAND, Harlin ENGLAND, Elisha ENGLAND, Mary S
         CARDER, Sarah PARSLY, Martha WHEELER.

Apr - Same minister. Received Mary FERGUSON from the church
        at Tompkinsville. Letters of dismission granted to Sisters P A
        GULLY & Isabel CLARKSTON. Ellis RIGGS & H S EVANS 
        set aside for the ministry; letters to be sent to Fountain Run
        church, Harmony and Freedom churches. Those bearing the
        letters of request for help in ordination were D E DOWNING,
        J T DOWNING and J W DOSSEY.

May - Same minister. D E DOWNING and Robert HALE to be
          ordained as deacons in June.

Jun - F C CHILDERS minister. H S EVANS & Ellis RIGGS ordained
        to the ministry and D E DOWNING & R T HALE as deacons.
        "Helps" from churches included: Fountain Run: J C HOWARD,
        W J ELIS, John PATTERSON. From Harmony church: J A
        REGISTER. From Freedom church: F C CHILDERS, T F 
        TAYLOR, R W BELL, R WILBORN. From Indian Creek: G W

Jul - R BELK mininster. The following names erased from the church
       rolls for refusing to be baptized: Benj CREAK [CREEK], 
       Perlina NEWMAN, T H LANE. Excluded Lewis GULLY for
       intoxication. Excluded Nancy AGERS for joining another
       denomination.

Aug - R BELK preached. E RIGGS, modedrator. Received those who
         had joined the church at Alexandria School House in
         Aug 1871 (not named). James FORD requested to attend next
         month re his use of profane language. Excluded Bro W H
         WILLIAMS for profanity. There are several names listed after
         the clerk's signature who might have been those who joined
         from Alexandria: Richard M ENGLAND, Nancy L HARP,
         Sarah Ann HARP & Nancy PARSLEY.

Sep - Received by experience Benjamin ENGLAND, Nancy ENGLAND
         and Mary Jane WHEELER. James FORD's case postponed,
         James HALE to again see him. Letter of dismission granted
         Elisabeth HOWARD.

Oct - James FORD's case taken up - would not agree to come to
        church, excluded.

Nov - Church agreed to obey the proclamation of the Governor of
        KY to observe Thursday, 30th of Nov as a day of Thanksgiving
        and pray to Almity God for his blessings and mercies to us
        as a people. A revival (protracted meeting) held for 5 weeks
        with the following results - added to the church:

        William J AGERS, Martha E JONES (died Jan 1873), Evaline

        HARP (female), Nancy G. CARTER. Added by letter:
        Jane SIMMONS, Fanny MURPHY, Elisa HARP (under watch-
        care), Mary A GOAD, C P JORDAN, Elvis SIMMONS (excluded),
        John R FERGUSON (restored).

Dec - Helps requested from the same churches earlier for the ordination
         of R A BELK to the ministry and W D JORDAN & T C
         SIMMONS. The church granted the use of the church house to
         the Monroe Co Trustees in Jan 1872. Another sexton to be
         sought. Letter of dismission granted to Bettie S HUGHES.
