This photo shows the flood that occurred in 1946 at the Forks of Straight 
Creek in Bell County, Kentucky.  The high water caused much damage to the 
homes and vehicles of the residents in that area.

The back-up of high water in Straight Creek was a result of the flooding 
of the Cumberland River at Pineville.  Straight Creek empties into the 
Cumberland River a short distance upstream from the historical Cumberland 
Ford.
