Ky Court Order Book C Written: February 10, 1812 Hardin County Court Order Book C Monday, February 10th 1812 At a County Court began and held for Hardin County at the Court house in Elizabeth Town on Monday the 10th day of February 1812 Present Nicholas MILLER, Lewis ABELLS, Aaron HART, Christopher MILLER and Samuel MARTIN, Esquires ---------- James YOUNG produced in Court a commission from under the hand of his Excellency Charles SCOTT Esquire Governor of the State of Kentucky appointing him a Justice of the peace in and for the County of Hardin with the following certificate thereon endorsed (towit) Hardin County Sct This day James YOUNG personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the County aforesaid and took the Several oaths prescribed by law as a Justice of the peace in and for Said County given under my hand this 10th day of February 1812 Lewis WELLS JPHC Whereupon the Said James YOUNG took his seat. -------------- On the motion of James YOUNG Jeremiah PATE is appointed constable in and for the County of Hardin whereupon he took the Several oath prescribed by law and entered into and acknowledged his bond with James YOUNG, Robert BLEAKLEY and John MILLER his Securities in the penalty of five hundred dollars conditioned as the law directs. -------------- Arthur McGAUGHY produced in Court a Commission from under the hand of Charles SCOTT Esquire Governor of Kentucky appointing him a Justice of the peace in and for the County of Hardin with the following certificate thereon endorsed (towit) Hardin County Sct. BERT be and he is hereby appointed as commissioner of the revenue tax for the present year in this County in the bounds of Captain Robert HUSTON company --------- Ordered that Squire LARUE be and he is hereby appointed commissioner of the revenue tax in this County for the present year in the bounds of Captain Coonrod WATTERS company. -------- Ordered that David SWEARINGS be and he is hereby appointed commissioner of the revenue tax in this County for the present year in the bounds of Captain Wm EVANSES company --------- Ordered that Patrick IRELAND be and he is hereby appointed commissioner of the revenue tax for the present year in the bounds of Captain Jessee CURLYS company. --------- Ordered Noah GORDON be and he is hereby appointed commissioner of the revenue tax in this County for the present year in the bounds of Captain Robert READS company. --------- Ordered Thomas MUNFORD be and he is hereby appointed commissioner of the revenue tax in this County for the present year in the bounds of Captain Peter WADLEYs company ------------- Ordered that Dudley ROUNDTREE be and he is hereby appointed commissioner of the revenue tax in the County for the present year in the bounds of Captain Elijah CREALS company ---------- Ordered that Robert M DORSEY be and he is hereby appointed commissioner of the revenue tax for the present year in the bounds of Captain Arthur McGAUGHYs company --------- Ordered that William Morrison be and he is hereby appointed Surveyor of the road leading from Joseph KIRKPATRICKs mill to his house and that all the hands within one mile of said road do assist Said Morrison in opening and keeping said road in repair -------- Ordered that Henry COUTS be and he is hereby appointed surveyor of the road leading from Joseph KIRKPATRICKs mill to Thomas BEANS in place of Robert KILLEN and that all the hands that assisted Said KILLEN do assist Said COUTS in keeping said road in repair. -------------- Whereas it appears that at the last October Term in the case of the Commonwealth vs William BROWNFIELD three witnesses claimed two day attendance in behalf of the Commonwealth when they only attended one day. It is ordered that the execution be quashed and that the Clerk in ______ execution avoid having the costs of the said _____ _______ and that the Said BROWNFIELD be released from the payment of the costs of continuances in said case. ________ On the motion of Jacob LARUE Senior It is ordered that William BROWN Samuel MARTIN and George HELM be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to establish the Beginning and Special calls of two entries made in the name of John BENNIT containing 150 acres each on Nolin it being the Same land whereon the Said Jacob LARUE now lives, and that a warrant issue accordingly. ---------------- James SMITH constable of Hardin County came into Court and renewed his bond with Jonathan JOSEPH and William BROWNFIELD his securities in the penalty of five hundred Dollars conditioned as the law directs. ----------- An Indenture of apprenticeship between Benjamin HELM on behalf of Elijah HART and Samuel CARTER was acknowledged by the parties and ordered to record. Said Elijah HART being given up by consent of Aaron HART. ---------- The commissioners appointed to lay off Margaret CON late wife of Usher FURGUSON her thirds of the estate of said Usher FURGUSON on this day make their return which was ordered to record ---------- On motion of Joseph FRENCH to have a ferry established on his land across the rolling fork on the road leading to Shepherdsville It is ordered that a Summons issue against Thomas JOHNSTON to appear here on the 18th day of the next Term of this Court to shew cause if any he can why said ferry should not be established. ----------- Ordered that John YOUNG be bound to Robert HUNTER whereupon the Said HUNTER and Benjamin HELM came into court and acknowledged an Indenture of apprenticeship which was ordered to record. -------------- Commonwealth on motion to have her three Children John Jacob vs and James bound out Rachel YOUNG The defendant appeared in obedience to a summons issued from this Court, and consented for her son John to be bound out which was done accordingly and as to the other it is continues till next Court. ------------- Ordered that Court be adjourned till Court in Course C.
