GUARDIAN BONDS - HOPKINS COUNTY 1846-1852

(There are no Guardian Bond Books prior to 1846. There may have been at 
one time but many records of this type were also recorded in the Minute 
and Order books before 1846).

Hezekiah Puryear, Charles T. Winstead and Hiram Bauldin are bound for 
$1000 on  Sept. 14, 1846 that Hezekiah Puryear as guardian to Abner 
Cates and Elizabeth Cates orphans of Abner Cates, dec'd, shall deliver 
to his wards any estate due them when of lawful age.   Page 1.

Greenville C. Williams appointed Guardian to Mary Bryant. Surety: John 
Ashby Jr. , October 12, 1846, $2000.   Page 2.

Hezekiah Puryear appointed Guardian to Agnes Cates.  Surety: B. L Porter.
Oct. 12, 1886.  $1000 bond. Page 3.

Letitia S. H. Bailey appointed Guardian to Martin H., Josiah Y., Elizabeth
E., Quentina, Mary Pernetta, Hiram E., Harry C (?) and Mary Jane Bailey
orphans of Richard Bailey.   $3000 bond and sureties were David Chandler,
William Harralson and Thomas C. Summers Oct. 12, 1846.  Page 4

Wm W. Oates was appointed Guardian to Margaret E. Stanley, orphan of James
Stanley, dec'd.  $600 bond and surety was R W Williams. Oct. 12, 1846.

Newton B. Reddick appointed Guardian to Elizabeth M Parrish, Mary W. 
Parrish and Louisa E. Parrish orphans of George W. Parrish, dec'd.  $200 
was bond David Clark and Moses Stanley, Jr., were sureties Dec. l4, 1846

Joseph Fuquay appointed Guardian to Alexander and James S. Mitchell, 
orphans of Matthew Mitchell, dec'd. Dec 14, 1846. Surety: Geo. W Noel. 
$2400 was bond.  Page 8.

John E Arnold appointed Guardian to Elijah G. and Sarah Elizabeth Mitchell,
orphans of Matthew Mitchell, dec'd. Dec. 18, 1816. Surety was John S. 
Eaves. $2800  bond.  Page 9.

Reuben T. Oldham appointed Guardian to Sally F. Hamton, Martha Ann Hamton,
Charles C. Hamton and Wilson S. Hampton, orphans of Elisha C. Hamton, 
dec'd Feb 8, 1887. Sureties were Tho. W. Davis, S. J. Bradley & Jno. G. 
Morton. $3000 bond.   Page 10.

Nathan A. Hibbs appointed Guardian to William B. Utley and Sarah Utley 
Apr. 12, 1847.  Sureties were Tolbert Hibbs  & Abraham Goad. $1000 bond.
