The foundation is being hustled through and will soon be ready for the timber. ---[Times Democrat. A. J. Jolly, who was a night watchman at the big tunnel near Pleasant Valley during its reconstruction, has filed suit in the Fleming Circuit Court for $5,000 against the L. & N. R. R. Co He claims that on the night of September 23rd 1912, as he was walking through the tunnel a rock fell from the roof and struck him on the neck inflicting injuries from which he has not recovered. On Monday morning Stanley Blake, of Berry Ky., took home with him six bird dogs and four coon dogs, bought from our citizens. He also informed us that he had bought a dozen more which he would take away later. Mr. Blake. Justice, of Falmouth and Miss Pearl Grayson of Cynthiana, in Cincinnati, Sept. 5th. Died -- Mrs. Fred Lyons, aged 22, September 5th of Tuberculosis. Burial at Pythian Grove Cemetery. - ------------------------------------------ Montgomery Died-- Mrs. Sarah Willoughby Hedges aged 34, of Little Rock, at Paris hospital, of stomach trouble, Wednesday, Sept. 10th. At 6 o'clock, p. m., of the same day. Mrs. Anna Willoughby Ford, her sister, aged 47, died at her home at Aaron's Run of typhoid fever. The post office at Ewington, this county, has been discontinued by the Postoffice Department and the patrons will hereafter be served by rural delivery. An effort is being made by the citizens to have the office re-installed and Paul Weckesser named the postmaster. - ------------------------------------------- Robertson It is said that the tobacco crop of Robertson will be estimated at one-eighth of an average crop. This is entirely too low. Robertson will have a full half, if not two thirds of an average, and this is low enough. Robertson land is not worn out. though it has been severely tested in recent years, and it seems the older it is the better it is.---- [Tribune Democrat. Aris Throckmorton, Republican, and John Marshall Thompson, Democrat, have been appointed election commissioners for Robertson County to serve one year. The sheriff is the third member of the Board by virtue of his office. - -------------------------------------------- Bath More then half the tobacco in this county has been cut and the crop is much shorter than the lowest estimate had placed it.-- [Owingsville Outlook Judge J. A. Dougherty sold a lot of corn at $4.50 a barrel in the field. The confederate Pension Board at Frankfort allowed the claims of Robert Overby and Delilah Ramey. Holman Rice bought of Wm. Evans, of near Bethel, a lot of heavy hogs at 8c. a pound. Married -- Carl G. Comingo, of Harrodsburg and Miss Mary H. Coyle, of this county, at the home of the bride's parents, Sept 4. Died -- Mrs. Jo Ann Barker, aged 74, at her home in Sharpsburg, Sept 2. Burial in Crown Hill cemetery. - ------------------------------------- Bourbon Mr. George C. Thompson, of Paris, bought of Mr. Wm. H. Whaley, Jr., 414 acres of land located on the Paris and Ruddles Mills pike, near Paris, for $41,500. C. T. Hough of Ruddles Mills, recently sold a 2 year old gelding and a filly colt to Newt Rankin of Carlisle, for $175. A. T. Moffett, of near Millersburg, bought nine head of yearling cattle from John O'Connel, of Nicholas County at 6 cents per pound. Of last Wednesday night burglars entered the home of Rev. George Harris in Paris and extracted $3.50 from his trousers. On the same evening they went to the home of Mr. Mr. G. D. Steenbergen, next door to the Harris home, where they secured $2.50. Married-- Miss Janie Paynter, of Paris, and Mr. Thomas Padgett of Ruddles Mills Sept. 11. Died -- Robert De Jarnett, aged 79 years, of this county at the home of his daughter at Taylorsville. Mr. De Jarnett, was an ex-confederate soldier. ______________________________
