H. McCracken, in Mt. Olivet Sunday afternoon 22 Dec 1901 at 2 o'clock. The marriage ceremony will be preformed by Rev. O. P. Wallingford, of Cynthiana. After the ceremonies they will proceed to the home of the groom' parents, Mr. & Mrs. Winder Kinney where a handsome supper and reception will be given. Connersville In Memory of Stella King born 13 Dec 1892. Died 16 Dec 1901. Oddville Rev. Hostetter and Presiding Elder Pollitt had a first quarterly meeting here Sunday and all claims were met in full. Owing to the mercury standing at 7 below zero the attendance was small. Rev. Hostetter will preach on Sunday and Sunday night at Mt. Zion. He is self made, wide awake man and we invite all who can to come out and hear him. Mt. Zion is one of the oldest churches in Harrison County and the grave yard contains the remains of some of the most noted pioneers of the oldest families in the county such as Col. Beasman, Bias Mattox, Robt. Thompson, Jas. Harbur, the Zilers and many others. The ladies are having a round of box suppers and the proceeds will go to the taking care of the church and grave yard. Log Cabin 21 Dec 1901 Saturday Vol. 6 No. 51 Pg. 3 Col. 6 Divided Among Six Relatives of Whom W. T. Handy is One Mrs. Harriet R. Stewart, widow of Hugh Stewart, died in Cincinnati recently leaving a large estate. Mrs. Stewart was the daughter of Judge George P. Torrence, and her husband was a prominent and wealthy citizen of the Queen City. Mr. W. T. Handy, of this city, who is one of the six heirs, is now in Cincinnati assisting in settling up the estate which consists of $100,000 personalty and $10, 000 in real estate. Mrs. Stewart bequeathed $5000 to the Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member, and $1000 to each of two cousins, leaving $103,000 to be divided among each of the six heirs or about $17,166 to each one. The nieces and nephews who inherit the estate are: W. T. Handy of Cynthiana; Elizabeth Torrence, Winnie Harrison and Martha Montgomery of Cincinnati; George P. Torrence of Marion, IN; Mrs. Jane Sargent of Indianapolis. Log Cabin 21 Dec 1901 Saturday Vol. 6 No. 51 Pg. 3 Col. 6 Deaths Mrs. Rilla Moore, widow of Ben Moore, died Thursday in Erlanger. Col. Jerre Fry, father of Mrs. Col. W. M. Moore of Harrison Co. He died in Albermarle, VA. A five year old son of Hugh Carr of Cynthiana, died Thursday. Another child died about six weeks ago. Buried in Battle Grove. Mrs. Orie Lowe, nee Wiggins, 27, died at Shadynook last Saturday. Buied at Republican. Survived by husband and two children (not named). Miss Stella C. King, daughter of Deputy Sheriff Jasper King, died of scarlet fever at the home of her parents in Belmont, Monday. Age 9. Buried in Battle Grove. Mrs. Katherine Sullivan, died in Lexington, Wednesday. Buried in Catholic Cem. at Cynthiana. Widow of Jas. O. Sullivan who died last year. Mrs. Telitha Lizer, wife of Albert Lizer, died of cancer at her home near Lair on Dec 13th. Born near Antioch Mills 8 Nov 1853, daughter of the late John W. Addams. On 10 Dec 1867 she married Albert Lizer at Kelat. Survived by husband and nine children: Mrs. Carrie Craig of Morrow, OH; Mrs. Carrie Filer of Shawhan; Mrs. Tilitha Gullday, Maggy, Newton, Mack, John, Harry and Jack of Lair. Her only brother is John F. Addams of Knightstown, IN. Buried at Battle Grove.
