Milford Truitt, aged and highly respected citizen died after an illness of several months. One son and a daughter survive. He was many years a merchant and model farmer. Remains were laid to rest in the family lot in Georgetown Cem. beside his wife who preceeded him only a few years ago. She was the widow of Baldwin David, well known and esteemed by both black and white. She leaves two sons and one daughter (Not named). Cynthiana Democrat 20 Jan 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 17 6 Pages Pg. 5 Col. 4 Deaths John Lebus, aged 31, oldest son of Mr. & Mrs. J. F. Lebus of near Cynthiana, died at Lexginton Saturday night. The remains were brought home and the funeral was held Tuesday morning at St. Edward’s church, Rev. Geo. Bealer officiating. Burial took place in St. Edward’s cemetery. This death is the second that has occurred in a family of thirteen. (Bourbon News) Mrs. Mary Wood, widow of Edward Wood, passed away Wednesday morning one of Paris’ oldest citizens. She is survived by three sons, T. P. Wood, John Wood, and M. L. Wood and four daughters, Mrs. George Rassenfoss, Mrs. John Cain, Mrs. Frank Jacobs and Mrs. John Harrington, of Cynthiana. J. L. Jones , who formerly lived in Cynthiana and followed his trade of tinner, died in Covington, Saturday. The body was brought to this city Tuesday morning and burial took place at Battle Grove Cemetery. Newton Current, Confederate veteran, and one among the bravest of General John Morgan’s command died suddenly at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Paris. Clairborne Lisle, aged 90, died at Winchester. Laura Mae Whalen, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hanson Whalen, died at their home in the country, Monday. Funeral and burial yesterday at Mt. Pleasant. Born Mr. & Mrs. John Duffy, of Carbondale, PA have welcomed the twenty-fourth child, a daughter, into their family circle and are proud of the fact. The family now comprises nine girls and fifteen boys. There are no twins or triplets. A nine pound daughter had arrived the evening previous and he was fairly walking on the air. Bascom Stephens is very low: was paralyzed in body and partial paralysis of the brain. He has a trained nurse and no hopes are entertained for his recovery. His sister, Mrs. Susan Duncan, was taken very sick Saturday night at her home near Kentontown. Dr. Carr called early Sunday morning. Miss Rachael Pope, aged about 65 years, died at her home Wednesday. She was the daughter of the late George Pope and is survived by a number of relatives. Funeral and burial was at Republican Saturday.
