Struve, formerly pastor of the First M. E. Church South, of this city now Presiding Elder of the Huntington District Southern Methodist Church and an investigating committee have suspended the Rev. D. H. Reid, pastor of the Emanuel Church in Huntington, to await a trial at the next annual session of the Western Virginia Conference, on a charge of teaching and preaching unorthodox doctrines, says the Maysville Ledger. Born To Mr. & Mrs. George Swartz, a daughter Monday, March 28, to Mr. & Mrs. Harry Mahorney, of this county, twin sons - Clay Poyntz and Harry Benjamin. They weighed 6 ½ and 7 ¾ pounds. Mother and sons are doing well. Mrs. Mahorney was formerly Miss Emma Belle Renaker. They have been married 7 years and these are the first children. BRUNKER OF MORNINGGLORY, KILLED BY FALL Well Known Citizen Yesterday morning at about 10 o’clock Henry L. Brunker, one of the oldest and best known citizens of the Morningglory neighborhood, fell down the stairs at his home and was instantly killed. His neck was broken. Mr. Brunker was over 79 years old. For several years he has been subject to vertigo and it is supposed that he suffered an attack yesterday, the fall and his death resulting. Mrs. Brunker, his wife, saw him at the head of the stair, and in a moment he fell, before she could realize that he was in danger. He is survived by wife and by a grown son and daughter (not named). Died Mrs. Clarissa Cole died March 20th at her home near Bedford, IN, afer an illness of two weeks, with pneumonia, in the 93rd year of her age. She was the eldest sister of Mrs. Lucy W. Lancaster, of this county, who died a little over a year ago in her 90th year, and the mother of Mrs. Josephine Brannock, of Bourbon county, whose husband Robt. J. Brannock, died several weeks ago. Mrs. Cole had visited her in past years and was a woman of high Christian character. Mrs. Mary McKee, wife of J. A. McKee, at Kingsville, Lincoln county, KY died Tuesday. The remains were brought to Cynthiana last night and taken to the residence of J. W. McKee, where the funeral will be held this morning. Services will be conducted by Rev. Cary F. Moore, of the Presbyterian Church, and burial will take place in Battle Grove Cem. She was formerly Miss Mary Butler and a native of Fleming Co. She was about 70 years old. Married Alex McKee and moved to Lincoln Co. 21 years ago. She had been blind for many years. Mrs. G. S. Allen died at Millersburg Sunday from peritonitis. She was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. William McClintock and is survived by her husband and a sister, Mrs. Romulus Payne, of Georgetown. Louis Nichols, one of Scott county’s best known farmers, died Tuesday from acute indigestion. In mentioning the surviving children of Mrs. Zarelda VanHook, last week, the Democrat unintentionally omitted the names of Mrs. Annie Miller and Mr. James VanHook, both of this county. Mrs. Maude H. Paynter, aged 33, died at Ruddles Mills, Saturday. Funeral services in Millersburg and burial in Battle Grove. Caroline Simpson, 3 year old child of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Simpson, died at Antioch Mills, Sunday. Mrs. Mollie Fogle, aged 46, died at Boyd Monday. Burial took place the following day. R. H. Price, aged 64, died Monday at the home of his son-in-law, Doc Hill, on the Lair Station pike, after an illness of less than a week. Funeral and burial at Sunrise yesterday. Rev. Oney conducting the services. Mrs. Ann Eliza Whalen, aged 75, died suddenly at Poindexter, Tuesday. Funeral and burial this morning. Montgomery died Thursday at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Granville Denton, one mile from Ruddles Mills after a short illness of pneumonia. Mr. Montgomery who was in his 86th year. “Aunt” Tabitha Graham, an old and respected colored woman died last week after several months illness. When a slave she was the property of Mr. John Tom Taylor and wife, of Millersburg. Adjoining counties Pendleton Co. Mrs. Aulick, wife of Clark Aulick, formerly of this place, but now of Felicity, OH, committed suicide Saturday night last. Aulick claims that he awoke Sunday morning and found his wife dead in bed with a bullet hole through her head and a pistol loosely clutched in her hand. He gave the alarm to neighbors Sunday morning and said he did not hear the shot. At the Coroner’s inquest, that official ordered the arrest of Aulick until investigation. The large barn of J. W. Whalen near McKinneysburg, containing 5,000 pounds of tobacco, a lot of farming implements and vehicles, burned to the ground last Thursday afternoon about 4 o’clock. Thomas Clayton, aged 70 years, met with a tragicdeath by drowning at his home near McKinneysburg last Thursday. Mr. Clayton and little grandson went to a large spring near his home for a bucket of water and in stooping over to fill the vessel, it is thought that he became dizzy and fell head first in the spring, which is several feet deep. The old gentleman was very feeble and could not get out. His little grandson was too small to render assistance but ran to a neighbor’s. When help arrived it was too late. Alda Anderson, aged about 20 years, son of Mr. & Mrs. George Anderson, died Wednesday night at his home near Antioch Mills, of pneumonia, after an illness of nine days. B. M. Mullins, aged about 58, after a long illness, died Wednesday at his home at Demossville. Mr. Mullins was a retired tobacco merchant, and had been living an easy life on his farm in recent years. Deceased leaves a widow and six children to mourn his loss. C. W. Hathaway, aged 59 years, died Saturday at his home in Covington, after a two years illness of TB. He was born and raised in Pendleton Co. He moved to Covington in 1902. Mrs. M. A. Coleman, aged 65 years, died Sunday at her home at Sine’s Crossing of diabetes. Jackson Ducker, one of Pendleton’s oldest and most highly respected business men and farmers died Saturday at his home in Butler. The cause of death was heart disease. Miss Viola Berlew, aged about 40 years, died at the Berlew homestead, now occupied by her brother, J. P. Berlew, near Boston Station on Tuesday. Congratulations are being received by Mr. & Mrs. Robert Sprake, of Stamping Ground, on the birth of twin boys. Mr. Sprake is aobut 70 years of age and was married to Miss Mattie Kelly a little over a year ago. Will Lloyd, who for many years has lived on the Great Crossing, died of the infirmities of old age at the age of 75. He was nearly 77 years old, born in Harrison Co. and at the age of twenty removed to this county where he has resided ever since. He married Miss Mary Hutchison in 1857 and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary a few years ago. Ten children were born with five still living: Mrs. Adam Conrad, Mrs. R. P. Conrad, E. P., C. L., and A. B. Renaker, who is cashier of a bank at Burlington, KY — News. Geroge H. Hum, formerly a resident of this county, died in LaBelle, MO Sunday as the result of a stroke of paralysis which he suffered some weeks ago.
