L. Brunker, who was called away so suddenly. He was laid away at Republican church. Mr. Mose Wagoner was called home from the ares of life. He had been blind for many years. He leaves a wife and one brother, Willard Griffith of IN and two sisters, Mrs. J. J. Thompson of this city and Mr. L. B. Perry, of this county. Miss Willie Spears Rodgers, aged 16 years died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Ella K. Rodgers, Thursday of aseptic poisoning. Mr. William Lloyd, an old citizen in this county died at the home of his brother, S. B. Lloyd, in Lexington Wednesday, aged 83 years. His body was brought to Georgetown where it was interred. Miss Lena Morgan, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Steve Morgan, died at the home of her parents near Skinnersburg Monday of TB age 21. John M. Palmer, aged 90, died after a short illness. Muddiman on Tuesday of last week as the results of a stroke of paralysis. He was nearly 90 years old. He had been residing with his son, Samuel Sechrest, Buena Vista, KY Mrs. W. P. Miss Mary Bell Vickers died of consumption at her home near Black’s Cross Roads. Burial was in Carlisle. She was a member of the Methodist Church and is survived by parents, three sisters and one brother. Call, formerly of Nicholas county died March 1st 1910 at the home of her son at Springfield, IL, aged 74 years. She was Miss Hardin before marriage. At his home near Crayton, Jeff Divine died aged about 40 years. Burial at Baptist near Mt. Olivet. Asabel Woodward died at the home of his son Lee at Dayton, OH, last Sunday, aged 78 years. He was born and reared in Mason Co. He was married twice and raised five boys - W. T., B. W., Jas. R., Lee and Edgar. He was buried at Carlisle Monday. Mrs. Ella Blackburn Childs, the young wife of Mr. Ashland Childs, of Oregonia, OR died at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Blackburn, 33 East Pike St. Covington on last Saturday, in her 23nd years. Deceased was the granddaughter of Nicholas Scheitz, and spent the greater portion of her life in this county. She is survived by her husband, little babe of two months, her parents and one brother. Mrs. Nancy Huffman, widow of Isaac Huffman, who departed this life two years ago last February, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Enoch Sorrell near Mt. Walker, Monday of pneumonia aged 73 years. She was born in Lewis Co. but has been a resident of Pendleton Co. for nearly 50 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sorrell and Mrs. Mary Stewart of California, also one sister, Mrs. Amanda Stewart of Lincoln CO. Joseph Costella aged 52 years died at the home of his brother-in-law, J. P. Dougherty, in Falmouth. W. E. Piercefield, aged 22 years, son of Barton Piercefield, died at his home near Knoxville. Born 19 Oct 1860, Married 8 Jan 1885 to Miss Mamie Brayfield of Nicholas co. They had two children, Mrs. Harry Peed and Claud B. Bradley, both are married and live in Mt. Olivet. – Advance Richard T. Dotson, a large land holder and well known farmer of Alhambra neighborhood, died a few days ago at an advanced age. Brother of Squire R. W. Dotson of Burika, and is survived by four children, one son and three daughters. His wife died some months ago. Cynthiana Democrat 7 Apr 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 28 8 Pages Pg. 6 Col. 4 118 YEARS OLD SQUIRE SANDERS OF KENTUCKY WHO HAS A SON AGED 92 The 19TH of June next will be the one hunded and eighteenth birthday of Squire Sam Sanders, residing in a quaint log cabin home back in the foothills of the Cumberlin mountains some 20 miles from Whitesburg, KY. His birth is recorded in an old family bible as 19 Jun2, 1792. The record was made by his father. Twice a week he shaves with a razon handed down to him by his father, Thomas Sanders. His son, Samuel Sanders Jr. is 92 years old. He is the father of 23 children who live in a radius of a dozen miles, having thousands of descendants, all of whom are proud of the oldest surviving ancestor. Sanders has been six times married under the laws of the commonwealth of KY. Four of his wives died, while divorce proceedings caused one separation. To his present wife he has been married for eight years. He was married on the eve of his 110th birthday. She was in her 75th year. Son of the late Harvey Martin and his mother was a VanDeren. His wife and seven children survive. The daughters are: Mrs. Welburn Ammerman, Misses Iva, Sallie and Tyne Martin; The sons are: Will, Calvin and Case Martin. Surviving brothers are: Ex-Senator C. B. Martin of the county, and Squire B. F. Martin of this city. Mrs. J. C. Milam, of Bozeman, Mont. is a sister. Jos. A. Stakelin died at his home near Ewalt’s Cross Roads in Bourbon Co. Tuesday. He was born 5 April 1843 and died 5 April 1910, exactly 67 years old. His wife survives with six daughters and two sons, all grown. Mrs. Wm. E. Gibson, of this city, is a daughter. Funeral was in St. Edwards with burial in St. Edward’s Cem. Ab H. Rollins died at his home near Weisburg, IN, Sunday aged about 45 years. He is survived by wife and several children. Ed Robinson, son of Wm. Robison, of Belmont died at the home of his brother in Cincinnati Thursday, aged about 25 years. Burial took place at Kelat. Cynthiana Democrat 7 Apr 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 28 8 Pages Pg. 8 Col. 3 Claysville Susan Jones born in Knox Co. KY 11 June 1821 married to Ambrose Cobb 14 Feb. 1838 died Sunday 3 April 1910, lacking 2 months, seven days of being 89 years old. There are eight daughters and one son living and four children dead. Many years ago Mr. & Mrs. Cobb came to live with their daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Cain being especially invited by her husband the late Capt. T. J. Cain. Five years ago Mr. Cobb died, Capt. Cain died two days before our last Christmas leaving the home to his wife and her sister, Miss Rachel Cobb during their life. Mrs. Cain is and long has been an invalid and on Rachel the burden was laid; but it was a loving one to her and she bore it without a murmur, giving to mother and sister, her life’s best years of service. Mr. & Mrs. Ambrose Cobb were members of the Old Union, near Poindexter and their simple, quiet, Christian life were beautiful examples of faith and practice. The living children are: Mrs. Lizzie Cain and Miss Rachel Cobb at the homestead near Claysville; Mrs. Mary Tom Sparks, near Kentontown; Mrs. Hannah Munson, Mt. Olivet; Mrs. Alhambra Sparks, Central Ridge; Mrs. Nancy Browning and Mrs. Fannie Doud near Poindexter; and Mrs. Sarah Doud of near Lair. Joe Cobb is the son, could not be located. He is either in Lexington or Cincinnati.
