King was a barber of Mt.Mariah, Nicholas Co. age about 45. Luther Hamm, aged 21 was the last person seen with King and as soon as the killing became known he was arrested. When last seen together in the buggy at Carlisle on Sunday they were both drunk. Chipman, will receive his diploma from the United States Military Academy at West Point, on June 10th. Samuel Fossitt, aged 70 years, died in the northern part of the county. Born to the wife of Sol Goldberg in Falmouth, a daughter. This is the fourth heir. Born to the wife of Dr. J. Risk Meek in Covington, on Saturday, 21 May, a son. This is the second heir and the old stork brought a boy to rule the roost. In the same year there were only about a half dozen buggies in the county, now there are fully 500. A telegram announcing the death of Thos. J. Wood at a hospital in Sterling, Kansas, was received on Sunday by his brother, Dr. J. B. Wood. Eben McDowell died rather suddenly on Friday, 13 May at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mattie Hargraves in Chickasah, OK of heart failure. Best has returned from a visit to relatives in Millersburg. Cynthiana Democrat 2 Jun 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 36 8 Pages Pg. 7 Col. 3 Deaths Rev. Robert C. Caswell, archdeacon of the Lexington Episcopal Church, died in Lexington Saturday age 71 years. Native of Canada and educated at Oxford, England. He was rector of the Church of the Advent at Cynthiana for several years. At Corinth, Mrs. George Trimnell, aged 65 years, died. She was formerly Miss Carahan, of Virginia. During the civil war Mr. Trimnell, who was a soldier of the Confederacy, was taken seriously ill near her home and was cared for there, she nursing him through illness. After the war they were married and located near Corinth. The husband and two daughters and three sons survive her. Her husband was formerly of this city, and is a half- brother of J. K., W. H., J. Frank and W. L. Northcutt of this city. At Lair, Friday night, Jacob Houts died from dropsy at the age of 84 years. Survived by aged wife, who has been blind for several years. Burial in Battle Grove. Mrs. Dimitt, wife of Dr. E. C. Dimitt, and sister of Judge Garrett Wall died in Germantown Tuesday. Ed. Renaker died at Dry Ridge, Monday. Mrs. C. C. Cram died at Williamstown Tuesday. Her husband, Judge Cram, died a few weeks ago at Lexington. The nine month child of Mrs. Leonard Humphrey died at her home at Lair pike Tuesday. Burial in Curry. Born on 26th a daughter to Mr. S. O. Wood and wife. Cynthiana Democrat 2 Jun 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 36 8 Pages Pg. 8 Col. 3 Claysville Albert Garrett of Hardings Mill, near Claysville, died Thursday of the infirmities of old age being 90 years old since Dec 1909. He was buried at Barlow Church. The father of 12 children, all living. Married twice, his first wife leaving him eight children all in Missouri, we believe, except James, near the home. Several years ago his second wife died leaving four children, one, Alvin, in Illinois. Mrs. Millie Davis in Cynthiana, Joe and Albert Jr. at home. Born on Saturday 28 May 1910 to the wife of Walker Munson, an 8 ½ pound daughter. Mrs. Munson was formerly Miss Benson. MUTILATED BODY FOUND At Louisville, Monday, the horribly mutilated body of little Alma Kellner, who has been missing since last December, was discovered half buried in the cellar under St. John’s parochial school while the cellar was being cleaned out.
