T. Lail’s death near Kiserton, last Friday. He has been the superintendent of Peacock Distillery at that place for the past 10 years. He was the son of T. H. Lail. Age 41. Buried at Paris by the Odd Fellows of which he was a member. Colville Born to the wife of Will Collier, a daughter, second born. He was a son of the Late James Short Sr. and brother of Mrs. C. P. Barnes, of Louisville, and Mrs. John Hanley, of Kansas City. When a mere boy he enlisted in the Confederate army and fought with Morgan’s command. He spent several days with his brother, Dora Yelton, near Harper, Kansas, and stopped five days in Oklahoma City, which he declared to be the greatest of all towns he visited. Born to wife of Frank Houchen, a ten pound daugher, Mildred Clark. Mrs. Charles Gillespie, aged 19, died in Falmouth of consumption. She is survived by her husband and two small children, the youngest a babe of six weeks. Her remains were interred in the Benson Cem. in Harrison Co. He is survive by his wife and two sons, H. C. and Homer McDowell. Edmund Claypool, brother of Thos. Claypool of this county, died at his home in North Middletown, Friday, aged 80 years. Mr. Laura Linville, wife of James M. Linville, died at her home near Mayslick Monday of consumption, aged about 28 years. Buried in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cem. She was the daughter of the late William White of this county. She was married twice, her first husband being the late Mark Crawford. Cynthiana Democrat 23 Jun 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 39 6 Pages Pg. 5 Col. 5 Deaths Miss Maggie Norris, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Norris, formerly of this city, died at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Maggie Donovan, in Dayton, OH Friday of TB. Burial in Dayton. She was a sister of Mrs. James Lineman of this city. Miss Nancy A. Humphrey, aged 71, dropped dead in McKinley grave yard near Poindexter, last Thursday, while walking from the carriage to the grave were her niece, Miss Pearl Humphrey, was about to be buried. Miss Humphrey was with her other niece, Mrs. Joseph Crawford, and had walked part of the distance from the carriage to the grave when she said she felt a terrible pain in her head and felt that she would fall. Without uttering a word she sank to the ground and died. Burial was in the family graveyard. Rev. J. A. Dickson died in Lexington Sunday. Buried at Millersburg. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur Garvin, of Tennessee, and two sons, Attorney Emmett M. Dickson, of Paris and Dr. Chas. B. Dickson, of Ashland. Mrs. Ward Huffman, died in Berry last Friday. Charles B. Rogan, died in Nashville, June 2. He was brother of Mrs. Jo Desha, formerly of Cynthiana now of Rogana, Tenn. During the civil war he enlisted in a Tennessee regiment under Gen. Bates. He was promoted for gallantry at Chicamauga, and was in many of the leading battles of the war, including Manassas, Shiloh, Franklin, Murfreesboro, Perryville and in the Georgia Campaign. His wife, who survives, was a Miss Mary Cecil, of Lebanon, KY. Mrs. Emily A. Pope, aged 71, died at the home of her husband, Hayden Pope, in Sylvandell neighborhood yesterday of paralysis. She was formerly Miss Emily Barnett, and was a native of Harrison Co. She was married twice, her first husband was a Mr. Marshall, who died a number of years ago. She is survived by her husband, and one son, Harry Marshall. Burial in Republican church yard.
