Rogers, died suddenly at her home on Holt Ave early Sunday of acute tetanus caused from a wound received from sticking a rusty nail in her foot when she was a child. She was the eldest daughter of Dr. & Mrs. G. N. Cox and was 22 years old. - Mt. Sterling Gazette Cynthiana Democrat 1 Sep 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 49 6 Pages Pg. 1 Col. 3 News notes Wm. J. McHugh, formerly member of Henderson police force, was drown in the Ohio river while fishing. David O. Hinkly, a pioneer farmer living near Kendallville, IN, died from bee stings received when he unearthed a nest of bumble bees while plowing. He was found lying a furrow with his head and neck covered with stings. George Washington Peachy, the only surviving son of a Revolutionary war soldier, died in Los Angeles, CA at the age of 81. Mr. Peachy was born in Kentucky in 1829 and went to California in 1863. Preston R. Kendall of Louisville died suddenly from heart disease. Mrs. Priscilla Welch, aged 88, of Wooster, OH, has sued her husband, Joseph Welch, aged 92, for divorce, alleging cruelty. Charles Howard, a Negro man, stabbed to death Edward White, a white man, at Frankford on Saturday. Bessie, a 9 year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jefferson Cassity, died of drinking lemonade out of a galvanized water bucket at her home near Farmers, Bath CO. Miss Rachael Johnson, 20, was instantly dilled when a B. & O. switch engine struck the automobile in Vincennes, IN. Sunday. She was the daughter of John William and Elizabeth Jenkins, was 32 years old, married Lark Dunn 13 years ago. Mother of five children. Survived by husband, five children, one only 13 months old. Burial in Battle Grove. Mr. Cave Jenkins came from Covington Saturday to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Pearl Dunn. Burial in Oddville. Driven into a state of despondency by the fact that after twenty-two years of service in one position in a Memphis, TN department store he had been superseded by a new man, Frederick W. Terry died at her home in Belmont Saturday. Burial in Battle Grove. Daughter of John Hedger, who was a wealthy farmer of Scott Co. Her husband, who died a number of years ago, was William Terry. She is survived by two sons of this city: Capt. John H. Terry, assistant Adjutant General of Kentucky and William Terry. James M. Terry, of Breckinridge, chairman of the Harrison Co. Democratic Party, was a step-son. Park K. Sutton died at his home on the Leesburg pike near Broadwell Sunday. Burial in Jacksonville. The Confederate Veterans were honorary pall bearers. Survived by two brothers: George and Hiram Sutton. Mrs. Martha Bailey Link, age 72, died at home of her daughter, Mrs. Ella Gregg, in Lexington, Saturday. She is survived by 12 children. Mrs. Alex Fryman, aged 75, died at Morningglory Monday, from typhoid fever. Burial in Mt. Pleasant. An infant son of A. J. Butler died at Morningglory Sunday. Whaley in Paris, of general debility. She was widow of W. B. Whaley and a native of Bourbon Co. He name before marriage was Miss Elizabeth Foster. She was the last surviving member of the first congregation of the Christian Church in Clintonville, which as formed in 1855. Dorsey, two of the towns prominent citizens. Former United States Senator Wilkerson Call, of Florida, died in Washington. He was a native of KY.
