Cynthiana Democrat 28 Apr 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 31 8 Pages Pg. 1 Col. 8 Locust Grove Uncle Dan Taylor, an aged citizen of this neighborhood, passed peacefully away at the home of his son, Mr. Elijah Taylor, Sunday, April 24th. Uncle Dan, as we all know was aged 97 years and five months. He had been blind for about twelve years. He is survived by four children, Mr. Elijah Taylor, Mrs. Will Young of Bourbon, Mrs. Wm. Kimbrough, aged about 59 years, died at his home near Poindexter yesterday of paralysis. His wife formerly Miss Alice Carter survives. There are seven children by former marriages. Jos. Kimbrough is a brother. His sisters are: Mrs. Mary Curle, of this city; and Mrs. Ellen Johnson of Scott Co. Burial in Battle Grove. Daniel Taylor, aged 97 years, died at his home in the Salem neighborhood Sunday. Survived by brother, Jake Taylor of this county and a sister, Mrs. Martha Phillips of Campbell Co. aged ninety four and ninety two respectively. One son, Elijah Taylor of this county and three daughtgers, Mrs. Frank Wells of Covington, Mrs. William Moore of Missouri and Mrs. William Young of this county. Funeral services at Salem Christian Church. Mrs. C. C. Kemper, formerly Miss Cora Smith, of Scott Co. died at her home in Hattiesburg, Miss Saturday of TB. She was sister of Mrs. C. E. Wood of Georgetown, John S. Smith of Indianapolis, IN and T. Porter Smith of Los Angeles, CA formerly of Paris. Mrs. Kirby Taylor, aged 33, died near Robinson last Thursday. She is survived by husband and several children. Mrs. H. N. Hill of Robinson and Mrs. J. C. Brown, of Berry were her sisters. Funeral and burial at Curry on Saturday. The sad news reached Falmouth Monday that John Barnard, son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Barnard of near Peach Grove had been run over by an automobile in Oklahoma City on Monday and died several hours later. He was about 25 years of age and had been in that city about one year. He was employed by the Kingman-Moore Implement Co. He is survived by a widow, who was the daughter of the Late Milton Stevenson of Georgetown, a son and a daughter. Deceased is the son of Rev. Evan Stevenson, of Georgetown and a brother to the first wife of Dr. John E. Pack. He was aged 61 years and was married in 1878. Bernon Brooker of Ocoee, FL who married Miss Nannie Shropshire, of Scott Co. about four years ago, died in Florida last week. Mrs. Kareth, one of Grant Counties oldest citizens, expired at her home near Stewartsville at the age of 92. Judge C. C. Cram, aged 63 years, died Saturday last in a sanitarium in Lexington, after an illness of about one year. He had suffered three paralytic strokes and succumbed to the last one. Judge Cram was raised to young manhood in Pendleton county near Goforth. He studied law and located in Williamstown. He served two terms in the Legislature, two as County Attorney and two as County Judge of Grant. He was the founder and editor of the Williamstown Courier, and one of the foremost professional men in Grant Co. He leaves a widow who is seriously ill and three children: Mrs. E. E. Loomis of Falmouth, Glyd Cram, Fresno, CA and Miss Mae Cram. Her husband and children: Mrs. Carrie Conrad, St. Louis, MO; Mrs. Nancy Fristoe, Mayfield, KY; Misses Anna Clay Minor, Cincinnati, Forence, Bartelle and John Homer, two brothers, R. J. Smith, Perkins, OK and Henry W. Smith, Portsmouth, OH. Her father was the late Decatur Smith of Bracken Co. Her mother was a sister of the late Simeon Walton of Germantown and John Walton of Boone Co. C. LO. Smith, who went from Cynthiana some four years ago to Pekins, OK and died and was buried there Dec. 1908 was her youngest brother. . . .
