We are sorry to hear of the death of the young son of Mr. Cason, near Stringtown last week. The excessive smoking of cigarettes was the cause of his death. One died, and the other may live. Mrs. Meek (Minnie Williams) is getting along reasonably well. Her sister, Mrs. Brady McClure of Cynthiana is with her. Boys from Sunrise were here Monday morning putting up telephone lines. Quincy Moore has a box now. W. R. Cooper had one put in his home a few weeks ago. Cynthiana Democrat 14 Jul 1910 Thursday Vol. 62 No. 42 6 Pages Pg. 2 Col. 1 Carl Etherington, aged 23, employed by the Anti-saloon League as a blind tiger raider, was lynched at Newark, OH, Friday after a day of almost continuous rioting. Etherinton early in the evening confessed he killed William Howard, a proprietor of the "Last Chance" restaurant and former chief of police in a raid of alleged "speak easies" in a raiding scuffle. The stork made a duel visit to the Fair Grounds on Friday night last, July 1st, and brought joy and gladness to two families. With Mr. & Mrs. E. E. Loomis, this messenger of glad tiding left a lovely little daughter and with Mr. & Mrs. Frank Pfanstiel a fine son. The dads are very happy and the mothers and babes are doing nicely. - - Pendletonian. Sister of John Richer. She was 33 years old. Survived by mother, two sisters: Mrs. E. J. Friedman, of Germantown, OH, Mrs. John Hayes of Covington, and four brothers, Joe, John and Jake Richer of this city and Henry Richer of Covington. Augustus R. Summers, an aged veteran of Civil War, died in Harrison Hospital. Sunday. He and his brothers have for several years been inmates of the Soldiers home at Dayton, OH. Burial in Dayton, OH. Mit Slade, formerly of Cynthiana, died in Cincinnati Hospital yesterday.
