Our friend, Mr. Jack Huls, whose death was announced in last week's Democrat was a member of the Bethlehem Christian Church in Clark county. In the early part of Civil War Jack, Killis and John went to the Southern Army from Claysville with Major Orville Cameron. Their brother, Pleasant, was in Memhpis and went through the war with Gen. Johnson. Pleasant came home to Claysville when the yellow fever devastated Memphis. Of the brothers, Garret is buried in Elmwood Cem, Memphis. Tenn. Dick on the Isle of St. John, Prince Edwards Island; Nim in the church yard cemetery at Kentontown; sister, Mrs. Sallie Wills, afterwards Mrs. Jewett, at Winchester; Mrs. Jerusla Price at the Dawson grave yard below Milford; and Pleas, Mrs. Winnie Price and Jack are buried in Jacksonville, cemetery, Bourbon Co. A brother, John, lives in Indiana, Killis with his brother-in-law, James Price, midway between Clasville and Milford. There are two half sisters, Bettie Huls, wife of John Arnold, near Lair, and Naomi, wife of Clark Tucker, Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Huls' mother's maiden name was Lou Ann Fletcher, sister of the late Frank Fletcher. The two families lived in calling distance of each other on West creek, near laysville, the old people dying there. Wm. Fletcher, grandfather of A. J. Huls, was born in the fort at Boonesborough and was the second white male child born in Kentucky. He died here and is buried at the side of his children in the Lee graveyard near Claysville in Robertson County. Ira Wills of Winchester, Dick Price of Donerail, Leonard and Lou Price, Mrs. Elisha Mockbee, of Claysville, attended the funeral and burial of their uncle in Cynthiana Wednesday. Huls 11 Mar 1888. Died age 55 years 1 month and 26 days. Buried at Kentontown cem.
