Born in KY and 21 years ago moved to Macedonia, IA. Survived by wife and five children: Ream, of Shenandoah, IA; Tan of Ceres, CA; Ernest of Lyons, NE; Charles Martin on Harrison Co. KY; Mrs. Anna Koehler of Macedonia, IA. He is also survived by three sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Mike Rankin, Mrs. James Craigmyle, Mrs. John Martin and Mr. Wyatt Martin of Harrison Co. KY; Joe Martin of Bourbon Co.; Lewis Martin of Lexington. Mr. Augustus Shimfessel, 96, died in Clay City, KY. Born 7 Oct 1816 in Pittsburgh, PA, and on his second trip to KY in 1851 married Mrs. Sara Frances Vaughn and located near Clay City, KY. Survived by wife and nine children with 7 in attendance at the funeral. Only one daughter mentioned, Mrs. Sarah Reed of Harrison Co. (Others not named.) Prof. David V. Florence, about 30, died at home of his parents, Squire and Mrs. G. W. Florence in the Sylvandell neighborhood last Thursday of dropsy. Buried at Republican. Survived by wife, formerly Miss Lowe, one child, parents, four brothers and three sisters (not named.) Chambers McMillin, 67, died in Lexington yesterday. Buried at Jacksonville. Brother of Thos. McMillin of Broadwell and Mrs. Charles Lail of Shawhan. Miss Laura Gaper, 23, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. George Rankin, at Shawhan, Monday.
