I think this is interesting not only for the little tidbits but at parties like shown below - you can find out who your ancestor's friends were! Mr and Mrs John H BOLES entertained a number of their friends at a royal dinner, yesterday, at their hospitable home three miles from town. The invited guests were Mr and Mrs J M BOLES, Mrs Jerry REYNOLDS, Mrs. A D BARRICK, Mrs Lizzie BOTTS, Mr and Mrs Henry PEDIGO, Misses Kenna BOTTS, Beulah BARRAICK, and Helen CRENSHAW; Messrs W N LOCKE, Haiden DICKEY, Jere HATCHER, Jr, J M RICHARDSON and Dr E T ELLISON. Mr. H C TRIGG"S hospitable "At Home" to his friends from 11 to 1 Christmas Day was largely attended and most thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Mr. TRIGG is an ideal host, and was the thorough Kentucky gentleman at home among his friends Christmas day. It was an occasion that will long linger pleasantly in the minds of those present. Appropriately happy remarks, demonstrating the esteem and good will of all those present for their host, were made by Rev. F G RAILEY and Hon. W L PORTER, and feelingly responded to by Mr. TRIGG. Miss Kenna BOTTS pleasantly entertained a numbr of her young friends last Friday night at her home on Columbia avenue. Mr and Mrs H RAUBOLD, gave a most enjoyable and pleasant dance to a few of their young frineds last Saturday night. Misses Alice and Hallie GARNETT will receive on New Year's Day from 2 to 6, assisted by Mrs. V H BAIRD, Mrs W L COOK, Misses Heiter DICKINSON and Annie BRANNAN. Miss Caddie LEWIS gave a most delightly little-folks party to her young friends at the home of her father, Mr. Jack LEWIS, in North Glasgow, Monday night. The lads and lassies were out in full force, and never was an evening more happily spent. THose present were Misses Kate DEPP, Nell TAYLOR, Minnie DEPP, Ella OXLEY, LaVeece CARR, Mattie Bell DAVIDSON, Virginia HARRIS, Mary ROGERS, of Louisville, Maggie DEPP, Clyde PAULL, Carolyne PARE, Jennie Lee ALLAN, Ruby Jeanne REYNOLDS, Emma Jones, Sarah JONES, Loulie RICHARDSON, Bessie WALLER, Mickle WOOD, Maude LESSENBERRY, and Masters Leslie FORD, Selby WRIGHT, Joe GARNETT, Edgar CALDWELL, O C PACE, John GARNETT, Alanson CALDWELL, John LESSENBERRY, Alphus GOODMAN, Arthur DINKELSPEEL, Jewell PRESTON, George BRANNAN, Wendell FRY, B G DAVIDSON, Jo ELLISON, Jim HUGHES, Frank McQUOWN, Joe, Tom and Jack RICHARDSON, Guy LOCKE, Harry SMITH and He--- DEPP. The young men of Glasgow will give the closing and most brilliant hop of the holidays at JEWELL's Hall to-night. The Bowling Green band will furnish music for the occasion and the public is invited. Dancing will begin at 8:30. Miss Made WALLER will entertain friends this evening at the elegant home of her father, Mr S H WALLER, near town. The affair will be in honor of Miss Bessye ADAMS, of Glasgow Junction, and the Misses FRANKLIN, of Liberty College. Miss Hattie DUFF, the popular and charming daughter of Mr J W DUFF, entertained a number of her girl friends at the home of her parents near Hiseville, Christmas day. The young people were most elegantly entertained and not the least future of the most delightful occcasion, was the royal dinner to which the guests sat down. The day was spent in gayety and merriment, and will long linger as pleasant recollection with those present. The guests were Misses Chowning JONES, WIllie WINLOCK, Ivy BLAND, Byrd TERRY, Amanda HATCHER, Mary WOOD, Lizzie HATCHER, Florence SKAGGS, Byrd WOOD, Lizzie CLARK, Rose STRADER (STADER?), Maggie JONES and Rose MACKEY.
