Mrs. Elizabeth Stolworthy wife of G. W. Stolworthy, died on pneumonia at her home on Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, early Friday morning. She was 75 years of age and a native of Bourbon County, being the sister of John R. Montgomery, of Ruddles Mills. Mr. Abe Keller, aged 83, died January 1 at the residence of Mr. John Allison, near Centerville, due to the infirmities of age. He was never married and lived with Mr. Allison for the past thirty-one years. Pg. 3 Col. 1 Connersville With much regret we learned of the horrible death that befell our friend Mr. Warren Mansfield who was killed by a train last Friday. Funeral and burial at Beard's Church on Sunday. With profound regret we learned of the sad death of Mr. W. A. Hill, Sr. of Paris, KY. For 20 years we were associated with him in business and we found him strictly honest and his first advise to use was to give a customer $10.00 rather than take $1.00 from him and never talk about opponents in business. Kelat Born to wife of Harry Simpson, a daughter. Pg. 3 Col. 3 Barefoot Born on 20th to the wife of Mr. Bruce Wagoner, a 10 pound boy. Pg. 5 Col. 3 Deaths Mrs. J. J. Baker died of heart failure caused by measles. d. 9 Jan 1908 near Renaker. age 50. She was Miss Kate Colvin and married John J. Baker at Fern Leaf, Mason Co. on 14 Jan 1875. She joined church in August 1876. Survived by husband, three sons, Benton, Earnest and Harry and also her mother, Mrs. Jane Colvin, five brothers and 6 sisters among whom are James Colvin, Mrs. C. B. Thomas of Midway, Mrs, J. B. Burnett of Paris, G. M. and J. N. Colvin of Chilesburg. Buried in Pythian Grove. George Boggess aged 50 was killed by train at Pittsburg Monday. The remains were brought here Wednesday for burial near Sunrise. Deceased was the son of Mr. J. R. Boggess of this county. He was in the produce business at Morehead and went to Pittsburg to attend to some business there. Mrs. Sallie Marshall, wife of Mr. Boone Marshall, died near Shady Nook on January 5th, of consumption. She was aged 52. Member of Christian Church. She leaves three children, and husband. Her children are Mrs. Newton Hardin, Johnnie and Miss Janie Marshall. Interment at Republican cemetery. Archie Duncan, a prominent and highly regarded citizen of the Oddville vicinity, died of heart failure at his home last Saturday night, at the advanced age of 82 years. Over a quarter of a century ago he moved from Claysville to Oddville where he has since resided. He is survived by wife and one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Douglas. Buried at Oddville. Mr. W. A. Hill Sr. married Miss Hite, a sister of Mrs. Chas. Riecke, of this city. Died in Paris. Survived by three sons, Chief of Police George M. Hill, Charles Hill, a well known traveling salesman and William Hill Jr., a well known newspaper correspondent, and six daughters, Mrs. J. K. Smith, of Dayton, KY; Mrs. Lee Barbour, of near Louisville; Mrs. L. B. Purnell and Misses Lizzie, Flora, and Mabel Hill of Paris. Pg. 6 Col. 1 Pedro Luther Owen died 12 Jan 1908. Son of Mr. & Mrs. L. M. Owen of Pedro Community. Just passed his 17th anniversary. Buried in Battle Grove. Sunrise A telephone message came Tuesday morning to Mr. J. R. Boggess that his son, George Boggess, was dead in Pittsburg and that as soon as possible would be brought to this place for burial. He was killed in a railroad accident. He lived in Morehead and was quite a business man. He had gone to Pittsburg on business. He leaves a wife and two children. One a daughter married and a boy 10 years old. Pg. 6 Col. 2 KILLED BY TRAIN Warren W. Mansfield, aged 34, a brakeman on the Queen & Crescent road, who lived at Sadieville, was killed last Friday night by a freight train near Ludlow.
