T. W. Hardeman, a gauger, dropped dead on Church Street, last Saturday afternoon while on his way home. He was at one time a resident of Cynthiana and a member of the McDowell Gurad. Pg. 2 Col. 6 Barterville Born to the wife of Bruce Wagoner on Saturday, a boy. T. C. Asbury spent Sunday with J. T. Bow of Headquarters. Died, at the hospital at Louisville on March 30th, Mr. Benjamin Asbury of near Ball Hill. His son T. C. Asbury took him to the hospital almost a week before. He was operated on for gall stones, and on Monday evening he was called home. They buried him at Ball Hill Wednesday. He leaves 9 children to mourn his loss. Pg. 3 Col. 1 Barefoot Born on the 29th, to the wife of Leslie Cook, a girl. Born on the 4th to the wife of Robert Sosby, an eight pound girl. Died on the 1st, Elnora, the little one year old daughter of Jake Fredick of Indianapolis, IN. She was brought to Mt. Pleasant Cem. for burial on the 4th. Claysville A. C. & Thomas Hall hav bought 92 acres of the old Haviland farm and are now batching. Some of the young ladies think that one of them at least ought to marry and now they are thinking so. Pg. 5. Col. 2 DEATHS The death of Henry Fightmaster is noted in the Connersville items. Rev. Geo. O. Barnes, the widely known former mountain evangelist of Kentucky died at his home in Florida. Judge James B. Cantrill, former member of the Court of Appeals, died at his home in Georgetown, Sunday. The remains were interred at Georgetown, Tuesday, the pall bearers being the judges of the Court of Appeals. Mrs. Mollie Kirk died at Maysville late Satruday. She was a sister of Mr. W. H. Bland of this city, who attended the funeral. Mrs. Emma Martin, died last friday at the home of her brother, J.T. Padgett, at the age of 40 years. She was the widow of Elmus Martin, who has been dead for several years. She is sister to Wm. and J. T. Padgett, Mrs. D. E. McCauley, Mrs. Wm. Whiteker and Mrs. J. D. Ross. Buried in Battle Grove. Mrs. James F. Lafferty, died at the family residence at Danville, IL, Sunday, at the age of 40 years. She was the daughter of the late John S. Day formerly a prominent citizen in this county. Mr & Mrs. Lafferty moved to IL several years ago and have since been making their home there. The remains were interred at Battle Grove. The Grim Reaper has again entered the home of Mr. & Mrs. Jess Robertson and has taken another from the family circle. A few months ago, a daughter surcummed to spinal meningitis, an son Monday night of this week, another daughter, Sarah Ernst, died of the same disease. She was 19 years of age. Buried in Battle Grove. Mr. Ben F. Humphrey, died Wednesday at the home of his niece, Mrs. John Browning, at Garnett Station, at the age of 73 years. Burial was in Battle Grove. Pg. 6 Col. 1 Connersville Henry Fightmaster, of Renaker, died while on a visit to his brother, Mr. J. C. B. Fightmaster, near Sadieville. He was twice married. His mother, several brothers and sisters and a widow survive. Burial was in Beard Church Cemetery. Mr. Smith who died in Lexingion, had may friends here who regret to learn of his sad death.
