The funeral sermons were preached by Bro. Wright and Mr. Hendricks was buried by the Masons. There were about six hundred people present. Pg. 3 Col. 2 NEIGHBORING COUNTIES Nicholas Co. Deaths: W. G. Ball age 22, near Blue Licks on May. Miss Nannie Stone, age 36, near Myers, May 10. G. Roberts, age 37, near Carlisle May 5. Near Ellisville on the 11th inst, Mrs. Samuel Feeback, aged 68 years. Cassius Price, colored, shot and killed Jim Williams, colored, in Henryville Sunday morning about 2 o'clock. Price escaped. Pg. 4 Col. 2 Pleasant Green Born on the 9th to the wife of James Perkins, a boy. Rutland Born to the wife of T. N. Swinford, a 10 pound girl. Pg. 4 Col. 3. KILLED BY LIGHTNING Lewis T. Mastin, a tenant on the farm of George McDowell, in Robertson County, was sitting between his father and brother-in-law in a barn which was struck by lightning. The lightning followed down the post and struck Lewis Mastin in the top of the head, killing him instantly. He was a son of Ben P. Mastin. Pg. 5 Col. 2 Births Born, May 7, to the wife of Mr. Claud McKinley, a daughter. Born, to the wife of Mr. James McKinley, a daughter Born to the wife of Mr. John Ingles, a son. DEATHS Mrs. Dora Gehr died at Berry. See Berry Items. Wm. Neff, aged 13 years, died Thursday at the K. S. of M. hospital Louisville where he had been taken for an operation which proved fatal though every medical attention was given him. The funeral services were held at the residence near Robinson Sunday morning, conducted by Rev. H. J. Lunger. Burial at Battle Grove Cemetery. He was the oldest child of Wm. and Cora Neff and the only son. It has pleased God to take from our midst Mrs. Linda Hill who departed this life May 4, 1908. She leaves a husband and seven children. She was laid to rest in Pythian Grove Cem. She was born Feb 27, 1846 at the old home place on Harrison Creek and was the daughter of Alfred and America Barlow. She joined the Barlow Methodist Church. On Sept. 10, 1868 she married Wm. Stewart and to this union seven children were born, four boys and three girls. She is survived by her husband and seven children; Mrs. Henry Kearns, Mrs. Wm. Garnett, Mrs. Bertha Whalen, Lucius, John and Otis of this place and Joe Stewart of Latonia. Edward P. Farrell, a prominent Lexington Lawyer, well known here, died Wednesday. Major John W. Robbins, aged 84 years, died at his home at Augusta Tuesday due to the infirmities of age. He was a native of Pendleton County, and was a Major in the Union Army. He has been prominent in Republican politics, being deputy collector some years ago. For a number of years he has been a store- gauger and has frequently been stationed at Cynthiana. Last week he became ill at the Columbia Hotel, in this city, but recovered sufficiently to be taken home. He was a gallant Kentuckian of the old school and had numerous friends throughout northern Kenrucky. He is sruvived by two sons and four daugthers. ... death of Pierre Curle at St. Joseph hospital in Lexington Satruday night. His death was due to heart failure. The remains were brought to Cynthiana at 12:30 p.m. Monday and services were held at the grave in Battle Grove Cem. Deceased was nearly 39 years of age and a member of a family prominent in this county, being as son of James B. Curle, deceased, and Mrs. Sarah Curle, of this city. He was a brother of Mrs. Henry Wilson, Mr. James J. Curle and Couthy Clerk W. R. Curle of this city. He served several terms as City Councilman of Cynthiana and for a number of years conductd a thriving insurance agency under the name of Curle & Co. He was book-keeper for the Central Kentucky Company, unitl a few months ago when he removed to Lexington to engage in the insurance business. He is survived by his wife, Miss Allene Wilson, of Bourbon Co. He had a $2000 policy with N. Y. Life Insurance Co. She leaves two children, Mrs. Chas Grim, of Middlesboro, and Mrs. Z. F. Fisher, of this place. Buried at Pythian Grove. Born to the wife of Rev. Ed. Howard, of Kansas City, a daughter, being the fourth daughter. Mrs. Howard was formerly Miss Iva Renaker. Pg. 7 Col. 1 Sadieville William Parker, one of Scott Counties oldest citizens, passed away at the advanced age of 96 years. He was twice married, was father of several children and leaves grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dunaway The death of Eddie Caldwell occurred Saturday at Cincinnati resulting from injuries received in a railroad wreck March 1, near Corinth. Burial at Williamstown cem. last Thursday. Pg. 7 Col. 2 Boyd Mrs. T. W. Knox and little daughter Christine, and Miss Myrtle Clifford attended the funeral of Miss Eva Simpson at Antioch Mills Wednesday May 6. Oddville Born to the wife of Tom McCauley, a fine son. Pg. 7 Col. 3 Hinton E. M. Caldwell, formerly of this place, who was telegraph agent at Mason at the time of the wreck on the first day of March, was seriously injured and was taken to Cincinnati hospital and died Saturday night.
