Petty, one of the soldier boys, attended the old soldier’s reunion in Cynthiana and strewed a basket of flowers over the graves of the ones that have passed over to the great beyond. Mr. Petty met two of the old soldiers from Tennessee that he had not seen for twenty years. Mr. Cassius Hamon died in Lexington and his remains were brought back to his old neighborhood, Gilead. RESOLUTION OF RESPECT Whereas it has pleased the giver of all good and perfect gifts to remove from us one of our number, in the person of John W. Criswell Sr. therefore be it resolved: 1st: That the Sunrise Deposit Bank has lost an upright and worthy director and the community an honored and respected citizen; 2nd: That we deplore his demise and sympathize with the bereaved ones and commend them to Him who is able to comfort them; 3rd: That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minute book of this bank and a copy sent to each county paper for publication. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. W. A. Hostetter. Burial took place in Sunrise. Survived by husband and seven children. Mrs. Fannie Collier at the home of her husband in Crab Orchard on Tuesday. Burial at Millersburg. She was formerly Miss Whaley, of Bourbon. She was married three times. Her first husband was Mr. Shropshire, the second was Mr. Martin. She is survived by her last husband, Mr. Collier to whom she married a few months ago. Her niece is Mrs. Dan R. Kimbrough. Hostetter of Mt. Olivet. Mrs. Blackburn was 39 years old. She died of consumption. She leaves a husband and four children and a mother and a host of friends to mourn her loss. Mrs. E. J. Whitaker died Saturday, funeral Sunday afternoon at Sunrise. She was buried by the Grange assisted by the Odd Fellows. Rev. W. A. Hostetter preached the funeral. Mrs. Whitaker was 39 years old. Survived by parents , and five brothers and 1sister. Buried in family graveyard. Allen Henry died at his home in Corinth at the age of 49years with consumption. He had been married twice and agreed to disagree each time. He leaves two son, five brothers and one sister. Funeral at Friendship and buried at family burying ground near the church.
