He was son of Thomas and Mary Jane Stone, born in Pendleton Co. Dec. 23, 1850 and therefore was nearly 58 years old at the time of his death. At the age of 18 he united with the Stringtown Christian Church, remaining a faithful member of that congregation until 14 Sep 1904 when he removed his membership to the Colemansville Christian Church. On Jan 12, 1882, he married Miss Jalie Ingles, who survives. He leaves one son, Ed and one daughter, Miss Lou Stone. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Sarah Marshall, and three brothers, Jesse, Milton and Wesley Stone. He was buried in Pythian Grove Cem. His pall bearers were Messrs. Ed, Newt, Jeptha, Charlie and Walter Dunn and Willie Stone, all first cousins of the deceased. Honorary pall bearers were, Messrs. J. E. Renaker, John Marshall, John Perkins, Will Warner, James Rollins and Dr. B. G. Gillespie. Pg 5 Col 5 BIRTHS Born, Sunday, to the wife of Jasper Moses, a son. Born, Tuesday to the wife of Mr. C. E. VanHook, the popular auctioneer, a daughter. Pg. 7 Col. 1 Connersville James Martin, aged 23 years, died of typhoid fever. He leaves a widow, nee Dunaway, and one child. He was buried in Elliott Cem. Mrs. Mary Mortis, aged 84, died after a lingering illness. She was buried in the local Family cemetery. With regret we learned of the sad death of our friend Luke Stone, of Berry. Pg. 7 Col. 2 Beaver Baptist James McPharland, aged 82 years, died Saturday at the home of his son, Robt. McPharland. Burial took place at Beaver Baptist. He was the father of ten children, three sons and seven daughters. Pg. 7 Col. 4 Antioch Mills Born to the wife of Albert Miles a fine son. Dow Bush and wife visited Ed Cummins the past Sunday. Mrs. Alice Brannock visted her father, Isaac Elliott the past week. Pg. 7 Col. 5 Kelat Thomas S. Marshall died Oct. 1st with consumption. He leaves a wife and three children. Curry Born on the 5th to the wife of A. Dunn, a 12 pound boy.
