B. Smith, aged 24 years, died of consumption at the home of his mother at 375 Western Ave in Covington Sunday night. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Vernie Perkins, who is a sister of Mrs. Will Barnes, and one child. Elder John S. Sweeney, formerly one of the greatest preachers in the Christian Church, died at his mone in Paris Tuesday morning at the age of 76 years. He has two brothers who are preachers, Elder Zach Sweeney, of Columbus, IN who dedicated the Cynthiana Church and Elder George Sweeney of California. Elder Sweeney was married twice his first wife dying shortly after his coming to Paris. She was survived by two daughters. Elder Sweeney was married to Miss Alice Monin of Hardin County who survives him and they were the parents of five children - Dr. John S. Sweeney, of Chicago; Elder William E. Sweeney, pastor of Christian Church in Evansville, IN; Elder Edwin E. Sweeney, of Lexington; Mr. Mono Sweeney; Mrs. George Hamilton of Two Rivers, Wis. and Mrs. Daisy S. Erion, of St. Louis, MO. Pg. 5 Col. 4 BIRTHS Born on the 8th, to the wife of John Ashcraft, a daughter, Catharine Lee. Mr. & Mrs. C. R. Cook are receiving congratulations over the arrival of an 8 lb. son, on Monday. Mrs. Cook was formerly Miss Blanch Dunn. Born Oct. 6th at Foster, to Mr. & Mrs. Bennett Insko, a son, Theodore Logan. Mrs. Insko was formerly Miss Arta Greene of Lair, this county. Pg. 7 Col. 2 Sadieville Miss Serelda Pullen died after a brief illness at the age of 70 years. She was member of the Baptist Church at Conry. She is survived by three children, Mrs. Ella Watson, Mrs. J. Evermont, and Miss Minnie Pullen. Havilandsville Mrs. John Foley and sister Mrs. Jim Hall, of Covington, were visiting their father, Mr. S. B. Fowler. Mr. Ed Martin and daughter retuned to their home in Covington Sunday. They were at the bedside of his son James Martin who died with typhoid fever. Barterville Died near Paris on Thursday Mrs. Addie Fuller, of typhoid fever. She leaves a husband and three chidren. Died on Tuesday the five year old son of Mr. Bruce Morris. It was buried at Mt. Carmel on Wednesday. Richland Mrs. Elizabeth Beckett's daughters and sons are going to give her a birthday dinner Tuesday as it is her 63rd birthday. Her family is composed of Mrs. Thomas Rose, Mrs. G. W. Criswell, Mrs. Lula Godman, and Miss Sallie, John, Thomas, Ed, Joe, and Henry Beckett.
