Buried at Mt. Pleasant Cem. Born on the 11th to the wife of Bub Harney, a boy. BIRTHS Born on Sunday to the wife of Elbert Dunn, a 10 pound son. Pg. 1 Col. 5 BOY KILLED IN NICHOLAS Samuel Crump, aged 14, was shot and instantly killed Monday near Millers Station, Nicholas Co. by his brother, Carlton Crump, 17 years old. The shooting was accidental. The two boys were out hunting with their father, Mr. Richard Crump, a prominent farmer, when the accident occurred. Pg. 1 Col. 6 BOWEN SMITH'S DEATH He was accidently killed by his room mate, Al Kennard at Pueblo, CO on Nov. 8. Burial was at Republican. Pg. 2. Col. 5 CHILD KILLED By Gun in Brother's Hand - Was Accidental A four year old child was accidentlally shot by his eleven year old brother at Corinth, and death resulted from the wound. Emmons Tapp, aged 11, was shooting at a target at the home of his parents near Corinth. Just as he pulled the trigger his little four-year old brother, Robinson, ran in front of the gun and the bullet crashed into his brain. He lived about a day after the deplorable accident which caused the sympathy of all to go out to the family of father, mother and ten brothers and sisters. He was buried in the Corinth Cem. Pg. 5 Col. 1-4 Offical Vote of Democratic Primary, Nov. 14, 1908 (Jno T. Cummins lost election to County Clerk to incumbent, W. R. Curle by 1450 votes. Curle, 1914 and Cummins 464.) Pg. 5 Col. 4 DEATHS Mr. Leroy Ballinger, died of paralysis near Lair Saturday night at the age of 89 years. He was the father of Mr. John Ballinger and Mrs. Albert Harper, of Lair; Mr. Orie Ballinger, Assisant Cashier of Fifth-Third National Bank in Cincinnati and Mr. W. E. Ballinger, Cashier of the Moorefield Bank. The remains were taken to Falmouth Monday and then to the cemetery at Willow, Bracken County for burial. Pg. 6 Col. 1 KILLED BY WOMAN A telegram received Nov. 12 by Mrs. Betsy Craig, of Sadieville, Scott County, brought news of the killing of her son, S. Percy Craig by Mrs. Emma Bonds, of Memphis, TN. Craig is alleged by a Memphis paper, had attacked Mrs. Bonds in a lonely spot in Memphis, and she shot him dead to save her honor. The body of the dead man was brought to Sadieville and buried at Beard's. Craig was born and raised at Sadieville and wsa widely known and highly esteemed throughout this section. He left Sadieville a few years ago and had since been living in Memphis and at other points in the South. Pg. 6 Col. 3 Latonia Born to the wife of Geo. Lemons of S. Dinsmore, a girl. Pg. 7 Col. 2 Oddville Born on the 14th, to the wife of Dud Geohegan, a fine boy. Pg. 7 Col. 3 Baptist Born Nov 14th, to the wife of Dudley Geohegan, a 10 pound son, Henry Taft. Pg. 7 Col. 4 Barterville Died at her home near Wesley Chapel on the 13th, Miss Zella Gaunce, daughter of Mr. Jeff Gaunce. She was about 16 years old and an only child. Pg. 8 Col. 3 Headquarters Clarence, the 15 year old son of Richard Crump, was accidently shot by his brother Monday while hunting and instantly killed, the entire charge of shot passing through his head and neck. Pg. 8 Col. 4 NEIGHBORING COUNTIES Bourbon Co. Died near Millersburg, Johathan Myall, age 86. He came to this county from England at the age of 8 years. Wm. Fields, a well known and aged negro man, was found dead in the field in front of Miss Nellie Marsh's residence on the Maysville pike Monday. No marks of violence were found on his person and the supposition is he died of heart disease. Mrs. Jame Colvin, aged 77 years, died at her home on the North Middletown Rd. Sunday morning, of pneumonia. Pendleton Co. The death of John S. Wadsworth, one of the county's oldest and most highly honored Christian gentlemen, occurred at his home in the Goforth neighborhood, Sunday, Nov. 8, 1908. Died of pneumonia, C. S. Bonar, near Lenoxburg. Died of consumption, near Lenoxburg, Mrs. Chris Lytle. Scott Co. Mrs. Mary A. Finnell died at her home in Georgetown Thursday of dropsy and kidney trouble, aged 78. Mrs. Lizzie Hoffman, of Wichita, Kansas, was in Georgetown last week in search of her parents from whom she says she was kidnapped 40 years ago. She was looking for a many named George Wirth or Wirt, which she had been told was the name of her father and that he lived near Georgetown. She was unsuccessful however as nothing is known of such a man in this county.
