Three years ago she married Mr. P. J. Moroney of Covington where she has made her home since. She leaves her husband, two brothers and five sisters. Pg. 5 Col. 3 BIRTHS Born to the wife of Will Jones, a boy. Born to the wife of Homer Florence, a girl. DEATHS Mrs. Vina Maroney, nee Hughes, died in Covington, Sunday Aug 30. She was fomerly of this county and was a sister of Mrs. John Doan, of Kinsville, Mrs. Jasper Williams of Claysville, Mrs. Ed Ficke, of Sylvan Dell and Mrs. Roy Jouett of Grant Co. The Paris Kentuckian Citizen says: The funeral services of Mrs. Mary E. Ward, who died Friday night at 10 o'clock after a protracted illness of a complication of diseases, took place from Sunnyside, the family residence , near Paris, Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Ward was 65 years of age and was a daughter of the late James Miller, the noted horseman. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. She was the widow of the late Judge J. Quincy Ward, of Bourbon. The interment took place at Battle Grove Cem. near Cynthiana, being laid to rest beside that of her husband. The death of Merrilla Catherwood, is noted in the Sunrise Items today. Mrs. Ewell Renaker, died at Torrent last Friday from an acute attack of asthma. Of her the Winchester Democrat says: ... she was formerly Miss Hattie Gulick of Falmouth and ever since her marriage to Mr. Renaker had resided in this city.(Winchester) Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters Misses Mary and Lucile and one son, Wharton. She was buried in Winchester. Mr. W. O. Florence, died of spinal trouble, Wednesday, at the age of 60 years. Funeral will be held at Curry today. He leaves a wife, who is a sister of John W. Daniel and Mrs. George Mullen, of this city, and six children, also five brothers and two sisters. Further notice next week. Jim Will Marshall died near Saltwell, Sunday Aged 38. Burial in Mt. Pleasant. Deceased left four chilfen, 3 boys and one girl, the oldest boy now being very low with typhoid fever. Mrs. Mary Marshall, wife of deceaed, died 3 years ago, age 38. Mr. Marshall's brother, Hiner, died three weeks ago. Pg. 7 Col. 1 Sunrise Wm. Garrett, of Gays, Illinois, and W. M. Stewart spent Sunday with their aunt, Mrs. Susan Harcum. Mrs. E. Price and son visited Mrs. Lindsey Cleveland of Pendleton County, Sunday. J. W. Six, one of our hustling carpenters, has contracted to build a house for Robert Baker near Broadwell. He began the work Tuesday. Last Thursday morning Merrilla Catherwood died of kidney trouble. He was a very old and respected citizen. His funeral was preached at Claysville, by Rev. Pfanstiel of Mt. Olivet. The remains were taken to Kentontown for burial. He leaves a wife and one son, Arch Catherwood. Pg. 7 Col. 2 Berry Died, Mr. Jim Smith, of Sherman, The remains were laid to rest in Pythian Grove cemetery on Thursday. Born to the wife of Frank Thompson, a son. Born to the wife of W. Two other children of these parents are now at the point of death. Pneumonia and whooping cough are the causes. Headquarters Died September 7, James Marshall, of typhoid fever. His son is still sick with the same disease. Pg. 8 Col. 4 Beaver Baptist Dave Coy aged about 60 years died Wednesday night and was buried Friday in the Beaver Cemetery. He leaves a large family.
