Wofford, of Millersburg were here last Saturday to hold a reunion of the surviving members of Capt. Shawhan's Company of Mexican Veterans. Last Saturday was the 63rd anniversary of the day this company marched out of Cynthiana for the battlefields of Mexico. It has been the custom for a number of years to hold this reunion of this company and the members have been diminishing each year. There are only three living members of Capt. Shawhan's Company, the one not present being Thomas Miller, of Harrison Co. who was not able to come. The two veterans enjoyed a fine dinner together at the Commercial and talked over the Mexican campaigns with a few friends. Mr. Geo. H. Givens is the only veteran to die during the past year, he having entertained Messrs. Smith and Miller her last year. Mr. Jake Martin of Capt. Metcalf's Company, also being present. The four veterans who died within a year previous to last year's reunion were, Major. A. J. Morey, David Ross, John Heinrich and W. S. McChesney. There were 96 members in Capt.
