Son of late Samuel B. Rogers, who died in 1890. He married Miss Anna Price in 1889 and they had two children, both of which died in infancy. They were of the Sunrise area. Survived by wife and one sister, Mrs. Nannie Price, and two brothers: County Superintendent J. W. Rogers, Cynthiana and Luther Rogers, Oklahoma City, OK and one half sister, Mrs. Fannie Fields, Wilmore. LOG CABIN Fri. 18 Jun 1909 Vol. 14 No. 25 Pg. 5 Col. 4. Marriages Moore-Gardner A pretty home wedding occurred Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock at the home of Mr. & Mrs. J. S. Gardner, near Kelat. A large number of friends and relatives were present to witness the happy event. The high contracting parties were Mr. Elmer Moore and Miss Nettie Lee Gardner, the handsome daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. S. Gardner. Mr. Moore was formerly a popular and successful teacher of this county and is now cashier of a bank at Ft. Recovery, O. The bride is a bright and handsome young woman and deservedly popular. Lenox-McCauley Rev. McGarvey Lenox and Miss Adda May McCauley were married Wednesday afternoon at the bride’s home in this county. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. H. Wilson, a classmate of the groom. The bride was attired in an attractive, gown of white Persian lawn and appeared to splendid advantage. She is the daughter of Mrs. Sarah E. McCauley. She is a lovely young woman of many attractions and has endeared herself to a large circle of friends. The groom is also a native of this county and is known as a young gentleman of sterling character. He formerly taught in this county, but for a number of years has been acquiring his education at Transylvania University and the Bible College at Lexington, from which he will graduate next June and pursue his noble calling as a minister of the gospel. He has furnished a home in Lexington where they will keep house. The bride and groom left Lexington Wednesday evening.
