Buried in Republican Cemetery MISS LYDA WILSON SHARP Died Saturday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lafe Dills, of tuberculosis. Buried at Battle Grove. Age 31, daughter of Mrs. Sue Sharpe who died recently. Survived by one brother, Jack Sharp, and two sisters: Miss Margaret Sharp and Mrs. Lafe Dills. MRS. SALLIE LIGHT Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Everett Hickman, at Sylvan Dell, on 22 Jul. 1909. She was nearly 73 years old. Married to Thomas Light who died several years ago. She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Everett Hickman, and Mrs. Zelinda Kennedy. Also by two sons: J. T. and W. T. Light. JENKINS Ends his life by shooting himself with a revolver Shortly after 9 o'clock last Friday morning the community was shocked at the news of Fred Jenkins' suicide. That morning he arose early and as ws often his custom, he took a walk about town. About five o'clock he went to the Farmers National Bank, of which he is teller, but left in a few moments after speaking the the janitor, Peter Tillman. At the breakfast table nothing unusual occurred to indicate that he was depressed. His wife had arranged to go to the country to visit Mrs. Will McClintock and Mr. Jenkins bade her goodbye. Before she entered the buggy and drove away with Mrs. I. D. Best, Mr. Jenkins again bade his wife an affectionate goodbye. ... [Paraphrased] His brother, Will, went to his house to relay a message from the telephone company and had just broken in to the house when a shot rang out. His brother was found with a horrible wound in the forehead. He died a few minutes lates. He left three letters. One to his wife uncompleted, one to brother-in-law, F. G. Sparke, tellin gof his debts and insurance, and a third one to A. S. Rice, president of the Farmers National Bank, telling him he would find everything alright at the bank. ... He was born Hardin County near Elizabethtown, 19 Apr. 1874. Died at his home in Cynthiana, 23 Jul. 1909. Son of W. C. and R. B. Jenkins the oldest of 11 children, nine of whom survive him. He came to Cynthiana in 1898 and was in the hardware business until a year ago when he was elected to fill the positon of bookkeeper of the Farmers National Bank. He was promoted to teller before he died. On 20 Jun. 1901 he married Miss Dixie Sparke and they had two children, George Fenton and Ruth Gwynn. Mr. Jenkins came from an ancestry of Baptist ministers, his great-grandfather Bainbridge and his grandfather Jenkins both having been Baptist ministers. He also has two uncles, Rev. W. B. Gwynn and Rev. J. P. Jenkins who are prominent Baptist ministers in Kentucky.
