Wednesday 10 Aug 1910. b. 4 Sep 1830 in Cynthiana. only 25 days short of age 80. One of three children of William A. and Eliza Perrin Withers. William Withers was a Virginian who became a prominent merchant in Cynthiana. James S. Withers was cashier of the National Bank of Cynthiana and its predecessors for 53 years. In May 1856 he married Miss Kittie Remington who survives him. They had six children and those surviving are: Mrs. J. W. Davis of Paris, Mrs. Bailey D. Berry of Lexington and Rodney S. Withers at the National Bank of Cynthiana. Buried in Battle Grove. He was twice taken prisoner and spent two years in Federal Prisons during the Civil War. Survived by wife, Miss Eva Perrin, and one brother, Squire Richard Demmitt of Cynthiana. Burial in Battle Grove conducted by the Thomas E. Hunt Camp, Confedrate Veterans. Dennis Linehan, d. Tuesday in Harrison Hospital age 72. Survived by one son, John Linehan of Cincinnati. Burial in Catholic Cem. of Cynthiana. William Lenihan, d. Monday in Paris. Age 79. Shelton B. Reed, d. Wednesday age 8m. Son of Shelton Reed. Buried in Battle Grove.
