Mt Poland news: Farmers busy making crops. Miss Effie FORD has returned from visiting a few weeks with her sister, Mrs. Dow THOMPSON. Miss Ethel GRIMSLEY spent last Sat night with Miss Helen MOORE. Miss Floy FORD who attended school at T'ville spent weekend with her parents, Mr and Mrs Price FORD. Miss Eurne COMBS who attends school in T'ville spent week with her parents, Mr and Mrs John COMBS. Misses Mertie and Mary THOMPSON spent Sat night and Sun with Miss Floy FORD. Sunday guests of Mr and Mrs Everett MOORE were: Mr and Mrs Joel MOORE, Mrs Davie RUSH and children, Mrs Ett RUTH, Misses Effie and Floy FORD, Mertie and Mary THOMPSON and Wolford MOORE. Misses Hallie and Ethel GRIMSLEY who attend school in T'ville spent the weekend with their parents, Mr and Mrs Luther GRIMSLEY. Bro PAYNE will conduct services at Mt Poland every 2nd Sun at 2 pm. Society news: James Martin WHITE is able to be out again after being sick for 10 days. J C EADS of Oak Grove TN in city Fri purchasing a lot of farming implements and field seeds from BRADSHAW-HAGAN Co. Farris GRAVES, a leading Meshack farmer, was in town and purchased a big lot of farm supplies from same. Mrs. George HOFFMAN of Burkesville spending a few days visiting friends here. Bud PHILPOTT, our saddle and harness manufacturer has been very sick for the past 2 weeks but is improving; able to be at work Monday. Mr and Mrs James BUTTON of near Glasgow visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs Edley RICH. Mr and Mrs Leonard YOKLEY and children John Edd and Loraine, visited her parents, Mr and Mrs Edd RICHARDSON. Misses Kathlene YARBROUGH & Ruth PRUITT spent weekend with friends in Scottsville. Miss Reva RICH spending the week with her sister, Mrs James BUTTON of near Glasgow. John YOKLEY who has been suffering with rheumatism all winter mingling with friends in T'ville. Mrs Hugh BEDFORD returned from Nashville; spent a week with her son Bennett who is atteding school there. Drs Raymond and Dennis EVANS of Louisville spent Thurs and Fri here visiting their mother, Mrs Maggie EVANS and Mr. and Mrs. B L BRADSHAW. Miss Carrie B CRABTREE who is attending Western Teachers College in Bowling Green spent weekend with praents, Mr and Mrs B S CRABTREE. Mr and Mrs Ralph HAGAN and son, Jene, spent weekend at Vernon visiting Mr and Mrs B S CRABTREE & Mr and Mrs Tim STEPHENS. Joseph GUINN, Harlan's Cross Roads was in town; and asked us to send the news to his brother, Ben GUINN of Gladwater TX. Ben is native of Monroe Co, left several yars ago and located in the west.
