Current comes from Burkesville; people missed their favorite Sunday morning radio programs. County Atty Paul CARTER hosted meeting for the Magistrates with dinner at Dewey RICH's Cafe. The Apr meeting includes Dorothy TURNER (All About Easter Sunday), Debate by Mary TURNER and Marjorie BRAY as to why a cow is better on a farm than a horse, also Clarence BURKS, Luther WHITEHEAD. Poem by Fay SMITH and how I raised my tobacco by Samuel RAY. May meeting, planners Garnett JONES and Fay SMITH. Jno T MEERS of Magnolia selling mixed colors of gadiolus bulbs at $1.35 per 100. Tom MARTIN accused of shooting Wick OLIVER. Wick about 50 was shot and seriously wounded Friday night at the home of Wick Oliver near Mt Hermon. MARTIN is about 40-45 years of age and was arrested by Constable Elmer TURNER and Barren Co officials, under $2,000 bond. Trouble said to have arisen over the ownership of some tobacco sticks. Oliver was hit by 3-4 bullets from a 32 calibre pistol. His wrist was shattered, one bullet passed through a shoulder above the lung, one bullet grazed his scalp. He was taken to Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow where he is recovering. Mrs Gertrude PALMORE stricken following a winter of poor health; sufered from a cerrebral hemorrhage Thurs night. She rallied quickly and was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Reneau PALMORE at Glasgow Sat. She was visited by her sons Dr Cecil PALMORE, Reggie PALMORE and Kaye PALMORE, all of Horse Cave. Students graduating from Fountain Run 8th Grade Mar. 14, had all passed the examination by Mrs. Lucy Goad ALLBRIGHT, teacher. Invocation by Rev. YOKLEY. Class song. Salutatory by Beatrice JONES. Home of Wolford (Woot) ROUSE and family burned to the ground in high winds last Sat night. Owned by Attorney B F DENHAM, no insurance, most household goods saved. House was behind the Soldier's Cemetery. Mr ROUSE was in Glasgow and wife and children at home. Rev. J W BAILEY reports he is now out of the hospital - was in for 36 days; badly sick 44 days. Mr & Mrs J M HAGAN Jr and Miss Ruth McCREARY attended vesper services in Bowling Green. Mrs. B F DENHAM hosted the Garden Club Tuesday and Mrs C C CRABTREE discussed wild flowers in Marrowbone. Mrs Ewing WILSON is president; those attending included Mesdames Lawrence A WILLIAMS, Timmie ALEXANDER, D H GOSSETT, Fred PACE, Clayton NORRIS, Ruben NORRIS, J L GARMON and James P GRAY, all of Marrowbone. Mrs Leslie DEERING & 2 children cme from Glasgow. Mrs Laura MILLER led in prayer.
