C E COE of T'ville was a visitor in Celina last Friday while en route home from Fentress Co TN. Mrs Sis ANDREWS returned from a 2-week visit in Turkey Neck Bend where she formerly lived. She visited the homes of her old neighbors & friends.She has been living in Albequerque NM for the past 7 yrs where she was caring for a sick daughter who has died. She will make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Fred WILLIAMS. James N GILLENWATERS, chief manager of the Reynolds Chair Store in T'ville purchased the Bob McCREARY lot across the street and front the property of Dr. G. W. BUSHONG, he will built a modern bungalow this sumer. Report from Cyclone KY: Nice rain, farmers are setting tobacco. W S WHITLEY purchased a fine Jersey cow and calf from William DUBREE of Persimmon. Miss Verna BRADLEY visited Misses Opal & elsie BRANSTETTER Sat & Sun. Frank FERGUSON was in Edmonton last week. W S WHITLEY has a chicken with only one wing. Mad dogs numerous in the area. Jake HARLAN has purchased a new auto. Virgil PAUL of Summer Shade was visiting Barlow BRADLEY here Sun. Gamaliel Baptist Church reported that on 5 Jan 1926 the death angel visited one of their beloved members Pendy BURNETT. HEATON, nee Nora JENKINS, d/o Tom wrote from Green City MO - was formerly of near Gamaliel; born & reared in Monroe Co; finished school at Gamaliel, graduated T'ville in 1913. Moved to MO in 1915 and taught 3 terms there. Md to James HEATON who was a teacher but is now a farmer. Has 2 sons - Gerald Tom, age 7 and Jack, age 2 months. Subbing to newspaper. Miss Luciles JONES, d/o Mr & Mrs Morris JONES and Mr. C C CRABTREE, attorney of T'ville, united in marriage at Celina TN 7 June. She a very popular lady of the city; he one of the leading attorneys at the bar here. Had served 1 term as County Atty; they will reside in T'ville. Maud PERDUE & Wash FORD married at the Methodist parsonage last Sat. She a d/o of Mr. Cooney PERDUE, champion old-time fiddler of KY. He a s/o Richard FORD who is a Chestnut Grove farmer. Performed by Rev. J W RAYBURN, pastor T'ville Methodist Church. Rev A J SLOAN to preach 2 sermons at Clementsville next Sun. One of the most ablest preachers of TN. Forkton KY reported rainy weather but large crowds attended the gatherings at the various county graveyards in this section on Decoration Day. Paul CARTER, Master Commissioner, passed the bar examination at Frankfort, will open an office in T'ville. He is a good scholar - hold 2 first class certificates, one of Monroe Co's best teachers. Mud Lick School acquired the services of Fay LYONS and her brother as teachers. Both have been teaching in Barren Co with great success. The Mt Gilead School will be taught by Prof Joe Harrison CARTER. Oldtime friend, Hon Joe H. EAGLE of Houston TX will visit Monroe Co friends in June.
