She was born in Nicholas County to the late Arrie & Louie Burns Roberts. She was a lifetime member of Carlisle United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and played piano. Survivors are: four grandsons - Todd R., John Nathan, Ron Joseph & Mark R. Allison; two granddaughters - Renee Massey and Cynthia Hammonds; a daughter-in-law - Diane R. Allison; a sister-in-law - Helen Roberts; and 11 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husbands - William E. Allison and Harry Galbraith; and three sons - Harold Nathan, Edgar & John Allison. Services were conducted Tuesday, November 18, at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home by Rev. Ernie Carmicle. Burial was in Carlisle Cemetery. Casket bearers were Todd, Nathan, Ron & Mark Allison, Joseph Hammonds and Justin Massey. Contributions are suggested to Carlisle United Methodist Church or the Johnson Mathers Nursing Home Activity Fund. ALBERT THOMAS LEMONS Albert Thomas Lemons, 73, of Church Street, Cynthiana, husband of Hattie Guy Lemons, died Monday, November 10, 2003. He was born in Nicholas County to the late William Robert & Rhoda Stanfield Lemons. He was a member of the Bedford Acres Christian Church and was a retired truck driver. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a son - William (& Glenda) Lemons, Nicholas County; two daughters - Kathy (& Ray) Abner of Paris and Phyllis (& Junior) Lawson, Millersburg; four brothers - Roger Lemons and Jerry Lemons of Cynthiana, Keith Lemons of Somerset and Billy Lemons, Texas; three sisters - Viola Traylor of Paris, Belle Strausbaugh of Cynthiana and Jane Ann Wiggins, Lexington; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Clay Lemons, and a sister, Lou Etta Vickers. Services were conducted Thursday, November 13, at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home in Cynthiana with Br. Kevin Strausbaugh officiating. Burial followed in the Wagoner’s Chapel Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. ELSIE GLADYS WATKINS MORELAND Elsie Gladys Watkins Moreland, 90, of Lexington, formerly of Bourbon County, widow of Emery Moreland, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Darby Square Nursing Home in Lexington. She was born in Nicholas County, daughter of the late Earl Amos & Carrie Ann Revel Watkins. She attended Bourbon County schools, retired from Hansley Mills and was a member of Hutchinson United Methodist Church. She is survived by: a daughter - Elizabeth Moreland (& Marvin) Barker, Lexington; a son - Bobby (& Jane) Moreland, Paris; two step-daughters: Laura (& Bill) Smits of Paris and Martha Johnson, Georgetown; four grandchildren; Pam (& Dan) Easley, Mark (& Mary) Moreland, Robert (& Charlotte) Moreland and Robin (& Katie) Osborne; six step-grandchildren - Jan Smits, Lana Sullivan, Jill Winings, Sherry Wilson, Mary Lou Scarbough and Elaine Wisby; three Sisters - Helen Price of Cynthiana and Bertha Stamper and Frances Wallace, Lexington. three half brothers - Harvey Watkins of Clark County and Tom and Don Watkins; Paris. 10 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by: a step-son, Frank Moreland; a step-daughter, Grace Wilson; a grandson, Ricky Osborne; two step-grandchildren, Tom Moreland and Joan Ferguson; a sister, Dixie Brown; two brothers, John and Edward Watkins; and a half brother, Jerry Watkins. Services were conducted Saturday, November 15, at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Davis and long time family friend Dr. Harold Dorsey officiating. Interment was in Paris Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark and Robert Moreland, Robin Osborne, Jarrod Dungan, Derek Moreland and Scott Osborne. Honorary allbearers were Milton Moreland, O. B. Reynolds, Eugene Watkins, Gene Wagner, Paul Stith, Brad Burtner, Earl Watkins, Ronald Watkins and Don Watkins Jr. The family expresses sincere gratitude and appreciation for the care they received from Hospice. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Hutchison United Methodist Church Renovation Fund. LENA BARTON WILLIAMS Lena Barton Williams, 97, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at the Nicholas County Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Fleming County to John & Dorotha Blake Barton. She is survived by: two sisters - Helen Flora of Carlisle and Charlene High of Shugarland, Texas; two grandchildren - James H. Williams of Cynthiana and Chet D. Williams, Singapore; three step grandchildren - Rita Flwler, Shirley McClure and Jack Lenz; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband - James H. Williams; and three sons - Ronald Williams of Banning, California, Noel L. Williams of Lexington, and Jim Williams. Services were conducted Friday, November 14, at Price Bros. Funeral Home in Elizaville with burial following in the Elizaville Cemetery. ______________________________
