The City Council elected John Cline chief of the fire fepartment; Clarence
William, clerk of the department, Dr. G. N. Cox, city physician.

Little Laura Watson slipped on the ice and broke her arm.

Home from school for the holidays were Alex Chiles, Culver Military Academy;
Thompson Guthrie, State University; Carl Boyd, M. M. I., Miss Mary Coons,
Transylvania.

Leaving for Florida for the winter were Mrs. Albert Hoffman, Miss Lucy Smith,
Dr. and Mrs. A.B. Stoops, Mrs. A.B. White and Mr. and Mrs. W.N. Scobee.
