LANGSDON; ANDERSON; SHANKLIN; SUMMERS   

This Indenture made this fifth day of April 1837 between John LANGSDON 
of Bullitt County Kentucky of one part and John ANDERSON of the same 
place of the other part.  Witnesseth That whereas said John LANGSDON 
stands justly indebted to said ANDERSON in the Sum of four hundred and 
Sixty dollars by note and date herewith ___ and to secure the payment of 
same the said LANGSDON has sold and by these presents does sell and 
convey unto said ANDERSON and to his heirs the following two Lots of Land 
numbered three and four in the Commissioners report filed in the Chancery 
cause in Bullitt Circuit Court in the name of Sarah LANGSDON against R. 
SHANKLIN’S heirs each Lot containing twenty two and a half acres each 
making 45 acres more or less which Land lies in Bullitt County on Blue 
Lick and being the same land this day conveyed to me by Rodham W. BREWER 
and wife To Have and To Hold said tracts of 45 acres of Land more or 
less unto him the said John ANDERSON and to his heirs forever and said 
LANGSDON does hereby covenant and agree to and with said ANDERSON to 
warrant and defend said Land to said Anderson and to his heirs forever 
against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever.  But this conveyance 
is in this condition viz. That is said John LANGSDON shall well and 
truly pay unto the said John ANDERSON the said sum of four hundred and 
Sixty Dollars in or before the 5th day of April 1838 then this conveyance 
to be void and of no effect and the title acquired under this deed to 
that extent to reverse and revest in Said LANGSDON and it is understood 
that said ANDERSON has a prior and another deed of mortgage on said 
Land or a part of the same Land.  It is understood that if the purchase 
money ____ and mortgage is paid then the said Land is heretofore 
mortgaged is the stone house under said former mortgage for the amount 
specified in said former mortgage.  Witness the hand and Seal of said LANGSDON 
this 5th day of April 1837

                I Noah C. SUMMERS clerk of the County Court for said County do 
certify that this Deed of mortgage from John LANGSDON to John ANDERSON was on 
this 5th day of April 1837 produced to me in my office and acknowledged 
by said LANGSDON to be his act and Deed.  Whereupon this same is truly 
recorded in my office
